When resting in a relaxed and comfortable manner, allow various thoughts of affirmation and negation to arise. When letting go of everything and watching attentively, like the ocean becoming calm and waveless, the knowing that arises and the object to be arisen are not established as two. Letting go of everything, the mind is without root or foundation, naturally abiding in the state of its own nature, the ground (352). This is the introduction to the realization of the unchanging intention of the primordial, pure Dharmakaya. Secondly, from that state, various thoughts arise. Without affirmation, negation, hope, or doubt, do not cling to any arising thought, but let it be free. Abandoning the bonds of past and future memories, the present awareness spontaneously arises and dissolves. No matter how the state of habit manifests, it does not go beyond the play of Dharma-nature, like great waves arising from the ocean. This is the introduction to the realization of the essence of self-liberation and self-arising, the unobstructed compassion. Thirdly, there is no duality of arising and abiding. When abiding is strong, close the eyes, and even if arising occurs, let it rest in its natural state, which is abiding. When arising is strong, do not move the eyes, but let go of everything, which is abiding. There is no separation between arising and abiding. Like small waves arising from the ocean dissolving into the ocean, abide in that state. That is, do not prolong abiding, do not negate arising, and do not fabricate equality. No matter how the mind arises, do not cling to it. Therefore, it is the introduction to the realization of the Dharma-nature that transcends affirmation, negation, acceptance, rejection, hope, and doubt, the original liberation, the self-nature of the Great Perfection (353). In this way, because one abides in self-arising, one is liberated in self-liberation. Because one abides in uncertainty, one is liberated in non-grasping. Because one abides in original liberation, one is liberated in groundlessness. Because one abides in the present moment, one is liberated in being struck directly. Because one abides in self-liberation, one is liberated in appearance and emptiness. That is, without abandoning discursive thoughts, one is liberated from the ground up. Therefore, it is the certainty of the Dharma that eliminates the need for repeated liberation and effort. Any arising discursive thought is liberated in its own place. Therefore, it is the certainty of the Dharma that does not rely on the antidote of clinging to thoughts. The six objects are liberated in immediate vision. Therefore, it is the certainty of the Dharma that is free from the awareness of clinging to past and future. Good and bad are completely liberated. Therefore, it is the certainty of the Dharma that is free from the partiality of acceptance and rejection. In short, any arising awareness has been determined to be the nature that transcends bondage and liberation, free from coming and going. This is the practice of liberating one's own mind.

Nowhere to go, melting into one, the mind that cannot be liberated by anything, because it is complete from the ground, there is no going or coming, no reason can be found by examination, because there is no foundation, emptiness and clarity abide. That mind that abides in self-illumination is, because it is liberated by the key point, there is no partiality, because it is liberated by time, there is no dependence, because it is liberated without effort, (354) there is no striving, because it is self-liberated, there is no antidote, because it is liberated from the beginning, there is no reconstruction, because it is liberated by staring, it disappears in sight, because it is completely liberated, there is no effort. Thus it is introduced. Third, there are three. First, the self-liberation of the five poisons is: unbearable attachment to the outside and inside, whatever arises, stare at its nature and let it go, and it will be self-liberated in the state of non-duality of bliss and emptiness. Stare at the nature of coarse hatred and let it go, and it will be liberated into the wisdom of non-duality of clarity and emptiness. When any non-thinking consciousness, unpredicted dullness, etc. arise, stare at the nature of ignorance and let it go, and the abiding cessation will also be broken, and letting go into self-liberation is, self-liberation in the wisdom of the Dharmakaya, free from foundation. Stare at the nature of pride and jealousy and let it go, and it will be liberated into the co-emergent wisdom of the self-luminous, natural nature. Second, the self-liberation of the five senses is: whatever is grasped by the eyes, ears, nose, tongue, and body, stare at its nature and let it go, and it will be self-liberated in the great (355) Dharmakaya, originally pure. Third, the self-liberation of the six aggregates is: form, sound, smell, taste, touch, and the arising feelings of the mind, the affirmation and negation of memory and awareness, whatever arises of attachment and aversion, stare at its nature and let it go, and it will be repeated in the state of great original emptiness, free from roots, and spontaneously accomplished in the great equality of the nature of reality, emptiness and clarity. Therefore, whatever arises transcends acceptance and rejection, hope and fear, and is trekchö in the uncultivated, spontaneously present nature of wisdom. The second meaning is the interruption in the spontaneously present luminosity. Introducing the path of breakthrough, there are three ways: the way to generate uncontaminated wisdom in the continuum as a preliminary, the way to introduce it as the main practice, and the way to practice it with the four yogas as a follow-up. The first is the activity of the three doors of body, speech, and mind in nine stages.
