Therefore, having identified the nature of self-existing dharmata, no matter how the mind abides, let it rest relaxed in that state. (301) Second, again from that, various thoughts arise, and even though the arising thoughts appear in various ways, since they are not established in their essence, they are like self-liberated water waves. Do not cling to "what is this," but let any arising awareness rest naturally without any support. No matter how it arises, the arising and liberation exist simultaneously, which is originally the reality of the mind. From now on, do not accept or reject various thoughts, but let the present awareness be self-liberated, do not strive or cling, please rest relaxed. Third, when arising and increasing like that, because of knowing the weakness, one cannot transcend the base and abide in increase. When abiding in increase, the self-arising awareness arises and increases unhindered, but the arising and abiding are not separate, just like a small wave arising and disappearing in the ocean. No matter how it appears and abides, if you do not continue the continuation of clinging, you will not go beyond the play of dharmata. Therefore, from now on, do not defile the state of non-separation of arising and abiding with the clinging of hope, fear, rejection, and acceptance, but identify it as the vast space of boundless liberation. The third is to repeatedly practice the union of two without duality. From the perspective of abiding like that, it is shamatha (302). From the perspective of the clear emptiness arising and liberating, it is vipassana, but because there is no entity that can be clung to and determined, all the experiences of good and bad and the play of thoughts are the waves of dharmata appearing, therefore one should repeatedly practice in the original emptiness, the vast state without root. The second is the actual introduction to great wisdom. The best is the pith instruction for enlightenment in this life, the intermediate is the pith instruction for liberation in the bardo, and the lowest is the pith instruction for enlightenment in the realm of the self-existing sambhogakaya. The first is based on three postures, indicating the key points with three ways of looking, and identifying the ways of appearance of the four appearances. The first is the three postures of the three kayas, the posture of the dharmakaya is the lion posture: lying down like a dog, with the soles of the feet facing each other, the hands clenched into fists and straightened, the neck slightly raised, and the eyes sharply looking at the space between the eyebrows. The posture of the sambhogakaya is the elephant posture: knees
