Like the forms appearing in the realm of mind, the realm itself is clear but empty of essence. That is the clear and empty Dharmakaya. Furthermore: Ema, son of noble family, do you find this sound pleasant or unpleasant? Listen carefully and look at its nature. Grasping at sound is one's own mind. Mind is the sound-empty Dharmakaya. Look at it and it is without foundation. Likewise, all that appears as sound, although various sounds are heard, is empty in essence. Although it appears clearly, it is empty in nature. It cannot be grasped and has no foundation. That is the sound-empty Dharmakaya. Furthermore: Ema, son of noble family, when you smell pleasant fragrances such as incense and medicine, as well as unpleasant odors, the mind arises with liking and disliking. Look inward at the face of that mind. What is its nature like? If you examine it, you cannot find it, there is no reason. Dualistic consciousness is sudden. It appears due to conditions, but is empty in essence. Furthermore: Ema, son of noble family, taste the supreme foods and drinks. Sweet, sour, salty, spicy, bitter, and astringent. Look at the one who experiences the six tastes. When you look, you cannot find it, there is no birth. Understand that the Dharmakaya is free from extremes, the Middle Way, free from elaboration, and self-liberated. Furthermore (251): Ema, son of noble family, the mind that generates affirmation and negation in response to touch, whatever dualistic grasping arises in it, the appearance is clear but the nature is empty. It has no essence and no foundation. Primordially empty and clear is the Dharmakaya. Furthermore: Alas, son of noble family, look inward at your own mind. Whatever arises, whether affirmation, negation, happiness, or suffering, it is clear but its essence is awareness-emptiness. It is like the moon in water. Furthermore: Alas, son of noble family, whatever various afflictions arise, they are like reflections in a mirror. Although they appear in the mind, they cannot be grasped. Afflictions have no basis and no root. They have no color or shape and cannot be grasped. Primordially unborn is the Dharmakaya. The nature of afflictive thoughts arises from the mind and dissolves into the mind. Arising and liberation are simultaneous, like waves. All subtle and coarse minds and thoughts are primordially empty, without foundation, and without root. Thus, if you realize the weakness of thoughts, you are liberated without needing to apply antidotes or accept and reject. Thus he spoke, clearly pointing out the nature of suchness. Afterwards, the lama said again: E (25

2) Ma, son of a fortunate lineage! Having received the empowerment of the empty and clear Dharmakaya, what is to be purified by this? May the sins and obscurations of body, speech, and mind be purified, may the power of all three reach its limit, may the reliance on happiness and suffering be free from abandoning and adopting, and may you be allowed to meditate without distinction thereafter. The ground is the eleventh, all-illuminating ground, the four activities become manifest, and the result is the spontaneous accomplishment of the five kayas. After saying this, offer a mandala. From this day forward, I, with my body and all enjoyable things, will worship you, glorious lama, please take care of me. After offering thanks in this way, please the assembled ones with the joy of the feast. Whatever is unprepared or diminished, whatever I have done or caused to be done with my ignorant mind, may the Protector forgive all of that. May I and all sentient beings, without exception, in the mandala of Samantabhadra, the victorious one, all be spontaneously accomplished all at once, and may we have the same fortune as the Sugatas. Thus, the objects of reliance, such as real objects and painted images, should not be moved. To the deities and guests of the cluster, etc. (253): Oṃ, may you accomplish all the purposes of sentient beings, grant the attainments that are in accordance. Even after passing away to the Buddha-field, please come again. Oṃ Vajra Muḥ (Tibetan: ཨཱོཾ་བཛྲ་མུཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओँ वज्र मुः, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ vajra muḥ, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Vajra, Mu): The wisdom being departs. Jaḥ Hūṃ Baṃ Hoḥ (Tibetan: ཛཿཧཱུྃ་བྃ་ཧོཿ, Sanskrit Devanagari: जः हुं बं होः, Sanskrit Romanization: jaḥ hūṃ baṃ hoḥ, literal Chinese meaning: Ja, Hum, Bam, Hoh): Thinking that the Samaya being dissolves into me, protect body, speech, and mind with Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ (Tibetan: ཨཱོྃ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओँ आः हुं, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ āḥ hūṃ, literal Chinese meaning: Om, Ah, Hum), and perform the remaining torma, the vajra song, and the auspicious verses. This Dharma practice is like a deep and vast ocean cloud, it is the accomplisher of the abundance of fortunate beings. Here, on the lotus of light in the heart, the rays of the Sugata's sun shine, the petals of love and compassion bloom, and in the sustenance of the faithful six-legged ones, the power of the lotus connection is well arranged. By this virtue, may I and all beings enter into the supreme mandala of the victorious ones, and may the two purposes of beings be spontaneously accomplished by the inseparable body and wisdom. When the autumn flowers ripen into fruit, on the neck of the snow mountain's white skull, the precious essence, in the secluded and delightful (254) place of the noble mountain rock, with the vast expanse of lotus blooming, the gods, sages, and dakinis
