As mentioned before. (580) Fifth, in this way, the non-dual appearance and emptiness, the self-arisen awareness, the self-luminous and clear, free from elaboration, uncompounded, and spontaneously accomplished, is naturally liberated in the realm of the three kayas. As the "Subtle Ornamentation Tantra" says: "The complete Buddha is self-awareness itself. Its essence does not change in the three times." As stated above. Sixth, whatever thoughts arise in the form of the five poisons such as hatred, one should stare directly at their essence and let them go completely. In this way, hatred is not abandoned, but is naturally liberated into clear and empty wisdom. Similarly, desire is liberated into bliss and emptiness, ignorance into non-conceptualization, and pride and jealousy appear as the self-luminous, innate essence, and are liberated in the state of the five wisdoms. As an example, whatever non-virtuous thoughts arise, such as the root afflictions and the twenty secondary afflictions, all should be known as self-arising and self-liberating. As the "Vast Expanse of Clarity Tantra" says: "The one and only basis of all samsara and nirvana, self-arisen wisdom arises from itself. Knowing this is called wisdom." As stated above. Seventh, similarly, observing the appearances and thoughts, both subtle and gross, of objects and subjects gathered by the six consciousnesses such as form, they are naturally liberated into the great realm of no self-nature, primordial emptiness, and complete severance. As the "Union of Sun and Moon Tantra" says: "Those objects that appear through attachment, who realizes that they have no self-nature? In this, there is no duality of appearance and emptiness." As stated above. In short, whatever arises, the awareness is naturally liberated in the realm of the self-nature beyond bondage and liberation, the primordially pure dharmadhatu, free from elaboration. Therefore, this is the ultimate state beyond the object of meditation and the meditator. As the "Consequence" says: "Self-awareness is free from all thoughts, possessing the four great liberations. Since it is liberated from the beginning, there is no need to repeat. Since it is liberated by itself, there is no need for an antidote. Since it is liberated by staring, it disappears in the place of seeing. Since it is completely liberated, there is no need for effort." As stated above. Furthermore, the statements that one should thoroughly cut off in the unborn and recognize oneself in one's own nature; determine in the unceasing and cut off in the present; determine in the non-dual and practice in spontaneous liberation, are no different from the meaning explained above. Third, introducing on the basis of experiential practice includes introducing in the state of self-abiding meditation and introducing in the play of self-luminous wisdom. First, in the "Precious Lamp Treatise,"

Sa! From the nature of the three postures of sitting cross-legged, the very meaning of primordial purity manifests. As it is said, the mountain-like cross-legged posture binds the body in the seven aspects of Vairocana, unmoving. The ocean-like cross-legged posture gazes steadily with eyes level, about an arrow's length ahead, without moving the pupils. The awareness-like cross-legged posture allows the mind (583), uncorrupted by any conceptual thoughts of the three times, the present awareness clear and without grasping, to rest in its own natural state, without acceptance or rejection. Emaho! Fortunate ones, look without distraction at this present awareness, self-luminous and naked. The stainless, pure Buddha is the self-aware Dharmakaya, unchanging. Clear, distinct, and radiant, like the cloudless autumn sky. Rest unmoving and stable like a mountain! Rest unwavering and clear like an ocean! Rest without expanse or narrowness like the sky! Whatever the state, may it be the state of awareness! Whatever arises, may it be the radiance of awareness! Allow the play of self-aware clarity to dawn! Just as birds, wherever they fly, do not go beyond the sky, so is the state of awareness. May all phenomena rest self-luminous and unmoving! (584) Thus, abiding in the state of clear and pure mind. Phat! Due to the cause of distraction and forgetting, the previous non-conceptual clarity disappears, and a conceptual thought accompanied by feeling arises, along with an awareness free from the antidote of grasping, a self-luminous, vast, and boundless state dawns. This is the meditation of awareness abiding in its own place, so recognize it. Once you recognize this, from now on, whether awareness is in a state of abiding, moving, rejecting, establishing, good thoughts, or bad thoughts, by gazing intently at self-aware naturalness, the meditation of non-grasping self-abiding will dawn nakedly and clearly, and this alone is the effortless, spontaneously accomplished meditation, like a river. Having gained some stability in this, by combining conduct, speech, memory, and thoughts with your own experience of gentleness, harshness, and moderation, and integrating them with meditation, all actions, words, memories, and thoughts arise as the play of dharmata, without distinction between equipoise and post-meditation. Without interval between day and night. Without the dharma of acceptance and rejection. Without the calculation of what is to be meditated upon (585) and the meditator, all is the self-radiance of awareness, repeatedly familiarizing oneself with the realization of primordial purity, where phenomena cease. Thus, in the Consequence School it is said: In the nature of primordial purity, there is no existence of ignorance, therefore there is no counting of one and two, nor is there even the establishment of mere wisdom.
