Ah! Manifestation and mind, all-pervading and free from direction, are individually realized. Instantly and spontaneously arising, naturally liberated, activity accomplished. Endowed with the five wisdoms, inherently self-arisen. Do not cling to the grasped and the grasper, but abide naturally. According to one's wish, with an ordinary mind, naturally liberated. It is the natural state, it is the primordial state, it is the Great Perfection. Alas! Dear friends, the various thoughts of memory and awareness. Contemplate and listen to this two-fold appearance of the grasped and the grasper. Without color or form, the essence is ungraspable. Unfabricated and unaltered, primordially pure. To say "this is it," to negate and establish, to engage in acceptance and rejection, is like someone casting a knot in the sky with their mind. Clinging to tightness and looseness, and so forth, individually. From the outside, it is liberated, the knot of the sky is untied. Contemplate this, what use is there in negation and establishment? With the mind of a child, measuring all phenomena. Reasons and astrology, "this is it," are without meaning. Clinging individually to non-existent phenomena, one wanders. The nature of the sky is primordially pure. Unfabricated and unaltered, where is there a knot? Self-bound, self-liberated, it is merely the work of the mind. Likewise, the nature of mind is like the nature of the sky. Even if you make a hundred knots of negation and establishment, acceptance and rejection. Without negation or establishment, free from hope and fear of acceptance and rejection. Without effort or exertion, transcending the prison of bondage. All of that is self-mind, merely a knot in the sky. It is like engaging in negation and establishment with meaningless words. This appearance of existence, happiness and suffering, the illusion of the six realms. The image of self-grasping, although it seems real. It is not real, like an illusion, like a reflection of the moon in water. Not realizing the illusory nature of non-existent appearances. Children exhaust themselves in vain with meaningless things. In the illusory play of samsara and nirvana, which are non-dual. Because of not realizing and clinging to it as real, beings are deluded. The yogi who realizes, samsara and nirvana are naturally liberated. In the pure nature of mind, in the ocean of wisdom. The delusion of dualistic grasping is like a sudden hailstorm. Arising and dissolving, the hailstorm dissolves into water. Even the habitual tendencies accumulated from beginningless time. Like raising a lamp in long-lasting darkness. In an instant of realization, self-liberation, transcending suffering. Alas! When realizing the nature of samsara. There is no need to separately abandon this samsara. Like the watchman, the rope, and the pillars of the Lhakhang, and so forth. When knowing their nature, there is no fear of enemies or snakes. There is no need to abandon those appearances. Just as when distinguishing the source of non-gold. Likewise, there is no need to transform it into something else.

Thus it is done. The source of delusion reverts within samsara, The basis of delusion is shattered, and the deluded one is liberated in its own place. Alas, friends! Deluded appearances seem like illusions, But at the very moment of appearing, they have never existed. Even the grossest atom has no directional parts. The mind is without substance, its nature empty, In that, what and what appear as delusion? Deluded appearances are baseless, self-liberated, the Dharmakaya. Appearing as non-existent, like reflections in a mirror. The pure mind itself appears as the surface of a mirror, (433) All kinds of images of causes and conditions, all appearances, Do not arise from the mind, they only appear in the mind. Appearances do not stain the mind in the slightest. When reflections in a mirror appear due to causes and conditions, Do they arise from within the mirror? It is not so, they only appear in it. Therefore, the mind has never had deluded appearances. The mind itself is the basis of the mirror, the Buddha from the beginning. The basis of all appearances, the unceasing holder of reflections. Knowing that very nature, grasping and fixation are liberated. Therefore, delusion does not arise from the mind, What appears as delusion is not other than the mind. Therefore, the nature of deluded appearances is the mind itself, Without bondage or liberation, the appearance of bondage and liberation is wonderful! If you realize this, you transcend all bondage and liberation. Even if you say that, if you still cling to deliberate grasping, Then the object of understanding is difficult to realize. If you hear this and are free from all attachments, You will be seated in the ranks of the Vidyadharas of the three times, And you will have a firm foothold on the ground of Samantabhadra (434). Alas, friends! At all times, The wisdom of a yogi is like the path of a bird in the sky. Just as the bird's tracks disappear and are not seen, The previous thought has ceased and is not seen. Do not continue to pursue and cling to it. Like the future bird's tracks, which are unreal, Do not be bothered by future thoughts. Like the present bird's tracks, which have no color or shape, Let the present thoughts flow naturally, Do not artificially modify them with antidotes. Whatever it is, do not deliberately cling to it. Do not separate with "this" or "not this". Do not affirm or deny with attachment. However it appears, do not cling to it. This is the ultimate essential practice. However it appears, if you do not grasp it, Afflictions are self-liberated, and it is great wisdom. If there is a mind of clinging to "this", a mind of attachment, Then wisdom is self-liberated, and it is affliction.
