O King! Please understand well the original exhaustion. All appearances and mind are the magical display of awareness, the nature of awareness is the unborn state of the sky. The source of dualistic delusion is exhausted. If you realize this, the ground is the Dharmakaya, if you specifically grasp "what is this," then it is seeing. Haha, friends, abide in the key point of awareness in whatever arises. Whatever it is, let go of the pursuit of the mind. Let go of attachment to "this is" or "is not." Abandon biased clinging to "is," "is not," and "non-existence." Let go of grasping and do not continue to negate and affirm (411). Alas, listen to the meaning of the Dharmakaya. If you observe carefully, there is no basis for negation and affirmation. There is no object to be grasped, no mind to grasp, no Dharma to be done, no view, meditation, action, or result. Everything is primordially enlightened. Ho ho, in the illusory play of samsara and nirvana, beings are confused by grasping at truth without meaning. Like a thirsty deer chasing water in a mirage, they are always deceived by Dharmas that have no substance. All beings bound by the illusion of non-existence roam for a long time in the city of the six realms, like an illusory person caught by a rope of space, like experiencing happiness and suffering in a dream city, suffering because they grasp at appearances that are actually non-existent. Alas, in the city of samsara, beings of the six realms are troubled by delusion, how pitiful. Sentient beings without beginning or end, how sad. It is difficult to abandon the appearances of self-appearing delusion. The various habits that are difficult to endure, how long they last. When will we cross the ocean of existence that is difficult to escape? However, by the rays of compassion of the Sugata, it is not far to liberate from the ocean of samsara. He he, all of this is like a dream of yesterday and the day before, liberated by realizing the nature of the illusion of non-existence (412). Because it is self-appearing, there is no need to abandon it separately. Like the illusion of a snake, liberation comes from knowing the nature of the rope. Seeing the nature of illusion brings peace of mind. Haha, friends, the nature of reality is completely revealed. In the nature of mind without doer or deed, there is no root or maker of delusion, how joyful. The nature of samsara does not exist from the beginning, if you break down the gross appearances, you will find that it is just dust, and even dust has no indivisible substance. The nature of turning, being turned, and samsara are all empty. Even by observing the mind of the illusion of non-existence, there is no color or shape.

Without edges, the three times, inside and outside, are absent. Though labeled as "mind," looking at the labeler reveals emptiness. Unfound when sought, like unreal space. Grasping and clinging's obscuration, lacking a basis, on what does it rely? Karma and imprints, their root being empty, therefore, contemplate where the cycle turns and who turns it, oh! When thus dissected and well examined, there is no sorrow, hence no cessation of sorrow either. Thus, in the absence of samsara and nirvana from the ground up, clinging to acceptance and rejection, hope and fear, deludes beings. In the nature of things, which is liberated from the start (413), beings striving and toiling grow weary in vain. For the sake of realizing that very thing, without meditation, the yogi is bound by the experience of view, meditation, and conduct. The more one strives, the more obscurations arise, there's no need for the essence to be a box that binds. If hope, fear, and deliberate clinging vanish, then the innate meaning, whatever arises, is a friend of realization, how wondrous! Friends, look with the mirror that shows the key point. The meaning of no meditation cannot be seen by meditating. It cannot be known by analysis, it transcends the box of concepts. If one meditates on no meditation, one is bound in the box of meditation. If one goes by habit, like walking without ceasing, without meditating, spontaneous, ordinary, it dawns in the mind. If one stays in one's own place, like there being no going and coming, though analyzed, it is not seen, it is merely a scattering of thoughts. Since it is a chain of clinging, there is no need for it. For the sake of the meaning of the natural state, let go of mental thoughts and considerations. Without thinking or analyzing, the key point is ordinary awareness. When stirred, it stops; when it appears, it is self-liberated. There is no need for mindfulness or antidote, it is self-liberation. The former gatherings of thoughts, such as attachment and aversion, though one thinks they are self-liberated by looking and releasing, (414) in the later moment, the cessation of the former, don't you know that is the nature of reality? Since former and later thoughts do not stay at the same time, meditation is meaningless and tiring because the former ceases. Since the later mind is also not free from thoughts, connecting thought to thought is like rotten rope connected to rotten rope. The mind stream, former and later, cannot exist at the same time. In the later moment, the former has ceased and is gone. Therefore, in order to liberate the former gatherings of thoughts, even if the later mind liberates them, it is not self-liberation. Since there is former and later, knowing it is liberation by another, to hold it as self-liberation is the mind of a fool. Like saying "raising an ox," what benefit is there in separating them? Furthermore, the later mind looks at the former mind. It is a continuation of thoughts, like a string of beads. Not
