Buddha, with love for the world, Yet most of the world does not follow. They follow the arrow of temptation, Alas, people of little merit, Seek spirits due to the loss of divine favor. As the scriptures state. Subsequent Statement: Third, the subsequent statement, comprising three aspects: appealing to the Buddha to attest to truth and falsehood, the manner of constant prayer to the Buddha, and how the courage to state arises. Appealing to the Buddha to Attest to Truth and Falsehood: First, appealing to the Buddha to attest to truth and falsehood, further divided into the actual situation and previously arising other views. First, the actual situation: Thus, when analyzing the correctness of meaning and words, without contradicting scripture and reason, I have debated. Most of the world curses me with thoughts of attachment and aversion, but you, possessing the eye that sees all, surely think well of me. As the noble Nagarjuna said: 'This Dharma was not spoken by the Buddhas for the sake of argument, yet it burns other views like fire burns firewood.' This saying has come to pass. I did not speak with the intention of surpassing others, but my speech, like your teachings, burns the tenets of other religions. When a straight ink line is placed, those that are crooked feel displeased. Similarly, by upholding your teachings, those who pretend to be Dharma are not pleased. I have no attachment or aversion, but desiring to protect the teachings, speaking the truth angers others, and speaking falsely is a heavy sin. Now, with palms joined, I ask this of the Buddhas of the ten directions: Have I spoken truthfully? Or have I spoken falsely? If I have spoken truthfully, then all who speak falsely will be angry; if I have spoken falsely, I fear it contradicts your teachings. Furthermore, if one wishes to protect the teachings, one must refute all false doctrines; but if one wishes to protect the minds of the world, one must praise even false doctrines. Speaking the truth burns the minds of others, speaking falsely destroys the teachings, and remaining silent does not realize the truth. Therefore, the conduct of the holy is difficult. As the scriptures state. Previously Arising Other Views: In the past, there was a sage named Eta, who prevented sacrificial killings. It is said that at that time, yakshas who delighted in flesh killed him. Even now, in that place, there is still the saying 'Eta's flesh.' A bhikshu who speaks the true Dharma... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I, the compassionate one, beautiful as the moon! I have heard that you were spared the king's punishment because you expounded the sacred Dharma. Moreover, because of speaking the truth, many in the world are led astray. I beseech you to protect them with your compassion! This is what the scripture indicates. Second, regarding how to constantly pray to the Buddha himself: It is divided into: praying to the Buddha, praying to the Lama who is non-dual with the Buddha, and praying again by stating one's wishes. There are three. First, regarding how to pray to the Buddha: Now, may the Buddhas of the ten directions, and the sons of the Buddhas, heed my words! With palms joined, I earnestly pray: Please look upon the suffering beings! Please turn back the deeds of the demons! Please bless us in every way! Common and extraordinary Dharmas, Having attained all benefits for oneself and others, Savior of all sentient beings, Supreme Teacher, I take refuge in you! This is what the scripture indicates. Second, regarding how to pray to the Lama who is non-dual with the Buddha: The wisdom body of all the Buddhas, Gathered into one, Mañjuśrī (妙吉祥). Manifesting as the form of a supreme virtuous friend, Cut through the जाल (net) of my delusion. For a long time, 'This is your virtuous friend,' Such a proclamation was made in the sky. O skillful guide, I prostrate to you! Some abandon the Buddha's teachings, Covered by the darkness of wrong views, Yet say, 'He is a true virtuous friend,' Most fools rely on him with reverence. Without flaws, endowed with qualities, Practicing as the Buddha taught, Even if one encounters a supreme Lama, Few in this world have faith. The emanation body of all the Buddhas, The very essence of Mañjughosha, Manifesting as the form of various ordinary beings, I clearly know, Even so, due to my ignorance, Even when I see, It is as if I have not seen at all. The karmic imprints are very strong. When you empower me, At that time, I became free from doubt. I prostrate to the supreme scriptures. When you were about to relinquish your life, O Protector, your supreme teachings, Were earnestly entrusted, When striving to accomplish them, The obstacles to practice will be removed. Thereafter, as you said, Those entrusted teachings, In every way, they came to pass. Speaker of truth, I take refuge in you! This is what the scripture indicates. Third, regarding the way to pray again by stating one's wishes: --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
