Although the Buddha spoke of it, many did not write it down. Secondly, the number of beads, for the accomplishment of mantras, is fifty for pacifying, twenty-five for subjugation, one hundred for peaceful, one hundred and eight for increasing, and sixty for wrathful. As stated in the 'Compendium of Unions' and the forty-fifth chapter of the 'Vajra Dakini Tantra': 'Fifty for the accomplishment of mantras, half of that for subjugation. One hundred for pacifying, one hundred and eight especially for increasing. Sixty for wrathful, especially applied to actions. According to the differences in actions, the mala and other things are done.' Thirdly, regarding the thusness (tathata) of it, there are three: the mala thread, the mala itself, and the thusness of holding the mala. The first is divided into two. Firstly, the material is generally cotton for all actions, as stated in the 'Vajra Dakini Tantra': 'Or cotton thread.' For different actions, different materials are mixed. For actions of suppression and expulsion, mix the hair of donkeys and mules, and the feathers of crows. For actions of hatred, mix the hair of horses and buffaloes. For fierce actions, mix the hair from graveyards and the hair of dogs. As stated in the 'Vinaya Origin Tantra': 'The hair of donkeys and mules, and the feathers of crows are mixed, for actions of suppression and expulsion, weave with its thread. The hair of horses and buffaloes, make thread for hatred. Hair from graveyards and dog hair are mixed, weave with its thread, for fierce actions, apply it for praise of the action.' Also in the 'Vajra Dakini Tantra': 'For expulsion, crow feathers, donkeys and mules are especially excellent. With the tail hair of horses and mules, with this thread, separate. The hair of corpses and dog hair, with the mixed thread, especially for malicious actions. The goddess explained the summary gathered into a thread.' As for the spinner, for gentle actions, as stated in the 'Vajra Dakini Tantra' and the nineteenth chapter of the 'Heruka Manifestation Tantra': 'Spun by a young woman. She should be beautiful in appearance, complete in body, clean and mindful, and speak sweetly. With the mala thread spun by her, the accomplishment of liberation will arise.' Therefore, one should have a village girl who is not tainted by worldly things, possessing the above qualities, or a samaya friend spin the thread. For fierce actions, it is done by a vidya. Secondly, the number of threads and its thusness, as stated in the 'Compendium of Unions': 'The eight directions and the four intermediate directions, the ninth in the center is the Buddha. Nine deities and so on on the thread, deities...' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bless it with nine (ways).' Having said this, the thread is twisted into a topknot, these nine represent the nine deities, and bless it. Some say this is eight goddesses, some say it is four mothers, but according to our own tradition, the center is Vajradhara Holder of the Vajra), the four directions and intermediate directions are the eight close sons of the Bodhisattvas, as said by the venerable Tsemö. Second, regarding the suchness of the rosary, as stated in the 'Union Tantra': 'Union, Dakinis, all rosaries are Arhats.' Therefore, the rosary is the Buddha who is perfect with abandonment and realization, and the realization of the rosary is completely pure. Third, regarding the suchness of holding the Sutra, as stated in the 'Union Tantra': 'Meditate well on the stupa, the stupa is for the power of Dharma, and above is also the realm of Dharma.' Therefore, the lower of the two stacked Sutra holders represents the power of wisdom, etc., and the upper one represents the purity of the Dharma realm. Some also say: the Sutra holder represents the Buddha, the rosary thread represents the Dharma, and the rosary represents the Sangha, which are the Three Jewels, and should be contemplated as such. Fourth, regarding the method of blessing, as stated in the 'Union Tantra': 'Thinking of the sun in the palm of the hand, and the first of the vowel letters, etc., in the center of the hand, the yogi meditates on the nectar letter, with numerous rays of light, and thinking of the white color, the fingers are the vajra tips, the left hand holds the lotus itself, the lotus and vajra are equally joined, in the sun, one should meditate on the suchness of all, and bless the rosary.' And: 'Having purified the rosary of mantras, one will accomplish whatever one desires, it will be accomplished from that, if it is not completely clear, it will be long.' As it is said, first, purify the rosary with the yoga of one's own yidam deity, or with the deity yoga of whatever activity one wishes to accomplish, then make the fingers of one's left hand into the shape of a five-petaled lotus, and in the center of the palm, visualize the moon, and the vowel letters starting with A (藏文:ཨ,梵文天城体:अ,梵文罗马拟音:a,汉语字面意思:None), rotating to the left. Make the fingers of the right hand into the shape of a five-pronged vajra, and in the center of the palm, visualize the mandala of the sun, and the consonants starting with Ka, with Hūṃ (藏文:ཧཱུྃ,梵文天城体:हुं,梵文罗马拟音:hūṃ,汉语字面意思:Seed Syllable) at the center rotating to the right. Visualize the white nectar letter radiating light in the center of both hands, first taking the rosary with the lotus rotation, placing it between the palms, and pervading it with the bodhicitta of the equal union of vajra and lotus. Thus pervading Āli and Kāli, contemplate that it is non-dual with the rosary, and from the 'Union Tantra' and the 'Base Tantra', the Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾ,梵文天城体:ओं,梵文罗马拟音:oṃ,汉语字面意思:Om) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
