Regarding the four teachings on the bell: Firstly, in general, bells can be divided into: Wisdom Bell, Samaya Bell, Longevity and Health Bell, Hero Bell, and Tathagata Bell, totaling five types. Secondly, the materials for these bells: In the 'Vajra Dakini,' it says: 'The material for the bell, the body of all bells, is copper; the material for the bell top is iron, gold, silver, and copper.' It also says: 'Other materials for the bell top besides copper need to be determined according to other scriptures.' Thirdly, regarding the size of the bell, it is generally divided into superior and intermediate size standards. First is the overall size standard: As mentioned in the 'Vajra Sutra,' any size between eight and twenty-two fingers is acceptable. It is the same here, in the 'Dakini,' it says: 'Between eight and sixteen fingers is acceptable, exceeding twenty-two fingers is not suitable.' Just like the size of the vajra, it should be made by an experienced craftsman.' The 'Compilation Sutra' says: 'Therefore, bells of eight fingers, etc., should match the size of the vajra.' The second is the size standard for each part: In the 'Dakini,' it says: 'The bell consists of three parts.' It means the bell mouth, measured upwards from the bell mouth, the bell body and the bell top should be equal. In the 'Good Protection Sutra,' 'the surface of the bell' means dividing the surface of the bell into six parts, of which four parts are the bell body. The 'Dakini' says: 'Divide the bell into six parts, of which four parts are the bell body, and one-third is the bell top.' It seems acceptable to choose either of the two methods mentioned in the scriptures. The shape or characteristics of the bell, in the 'Dakini,' it says: 'The shape is like a blooming lotus.' It means that the upper and lower connections of the bell body are like the mouth of a cow. The lips are thick, protruding outwards, and then retracting inwards, like a blooming lotus. In the 'Compilation Sutra,' it says: 'Slightly like an unfolding lotus, the bell mouth is like the mouth of a cow.' The upper and lower ends of such a perfect bell are decorated with two strings of pearls, the lower string arranged horizontally, and the upper string arranged vertically with a vajra chain. Between these two vajra chains, decorate with a net-like and half-net-like pattern hanging down from the upper vajra chain. In the 'Dakini,' it says: 'Above and below the bell body, there are vajra chains, each string having two neck rings, and between the two neck rings, decorate with pure, crystal-clear and flawless net-like and half-net-like patterns.'

Finally, on the shape of a lotus or water lily, dividing it into sixteen petals, on the outer eight petals, arrange the seed syllables of the eight goddesses. That is, in the east is ཏྃ (tam), in the south is ལྃ (lam), in the west is མྃ (mam), in the north is ལྃ (lam), in the southeast is the syllable བྃ (bam) or སུྃ (sum), in the southwest is ཙུྃ (tsum), in the northwest is ཀྲམ (tram), and in the northeast is the syllable མྃ (mam), with the heads of these syllables facing outward. That is, in the Khadro practice: 'The goddesses of the eight directions are known by the names of the eight. From the seed syllables above them, one should contemplate the eight goddesses. In the east is the goddess Tara, similarly, in the north is White-robed Mother, in the west is Mamaki, in the south is Buddha Eye Mother. The beautiful Treasure-holding Mother, the sweet Cunda, the Radiant Mother, the Wrathful Frowning Mother, and the Precious Vajra Garland Mother, are shown with coiled forms.' This is the meaning. So, how to do it on the headdress? In the Vajra Khadro practice: 'Like a lotus opening above the abdomen, arising from it, the center, representing the formless existence, the position is above the abdomen as a headdress. It is a vase of wisdom nectar, such wisdom, a vase filled with nectar, the position is in its center.' That is, the root of all dharmas, the practice of mind consciousness, the goddess Prajnaparamita, should have her face perfected, and above it, the lotus vajra, should be contemplated as before. As said in the Legsdur: 'Above and in the center, respectively, on the part above the lotus, the headdress, the position above is three strands, in order, the material of the gold vase, and copper, or a silver vase. Above it, a vase, about the same size, in the east is the face of wisdom. The face is the previous half vajra. The half vajra is.' Therefore, three layers of rosary made of gold, copper, etc., are extended outward, above the open lotus-like form, the nectar vase is located in the center, and above it is the face of the goddess Prajnaparamita, looking at the syllable ཏྃ (tam) in the east, on the lotus moon disc, the vajra with nine points, etc., marked with their respective tops. Furthermore, in the Samputi Tantra: 'The inner form is the sky, above the empty interior is the form of the vase and the faces of the Buddhas, etc., all perfections are complete, the place where all qualities arise.' Thus it is said. In the Khadro practice: 'In the center of the sky, is the basis of perfect form and all qualities.' This is the meaning. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
