At the place of Dhana-snāna (wealth bathing), bathe with Tri-madhu-snāna (three-honey bathing) and other things, and wipe the body with those things. Holding a pot of yogurt, recite: 'This is the water of the nature of generosity, which purifies the stain of stinginess, water well-arranged with the fragrance of generosity, I offer a bath to the one who is good at bathing.' At the place of Tri-madhu-snāna (three-honey bathing), bathe with Mala-snāna (dirt bathing) and other things, and wipe the body with those things. Again, in accordance with the mantra, apply three substances and then bathe with clean water. Holding a pot of fruit, recite: 'This is the water of the nature of discipline, which purifies the stain of broken discipline, water well-arranged with the fragrance of discipline, I offer a bath to the one who is good at bathing.' Again, in accordance with the mantra, apply three substances and bathe with clean water. Holding a pot of grain, recite: 'This is the water of the nature of patience, which purifies the stain of anger, water well-arranged with the fragrance of patience, I offer a bath to the one who is good at bathing.' At the place of Phala-snāna (fruit bathing), bathe with Bruhi-snāna (growth bathing) and other things, and wipe the body with those things. Again, in accordance with the mantra, apply three substances and bathe with clean water. Holding a pot of rice, recite: 'This is the water of the nature of diligence, which purifies the stain of laziness, water well-arranged with the fragrance of diligence, I offer a bath to the one who is good at bathing.' At the place of Bruhi-snāna (growth bathing), bathe with Lardza-snāna (light bathing) and other things, and wipe the body with those things. Again, in accordance with the mantra, apply three substances and bathe with clean water. Holding a pot of medicine, recite: 'This is the water of the nature of meditation, which purifies the stain of distraction, water well-arranged with the fragrance of meditation, I offer a bath to the one who is good at bathing.' At the place of Lardza-snāna (light bathing), bathe with Om-sadhi-snāna (holy medicine bathing) and other things, and wipe the body with those things. Again, in accordance with the mantra, apply three substances and bathe with clean water. Holding a pot of jewels, recite: 'This is the water of the nature of wisdom, which purifies the stain of wrong wisdom, water well-arranged with the fragrance of wisdom, I offer a bath to the one who is good at bathing.' Faultless, I pay homage to the Well-gone! Having bathed with six kinds of perfumes, purifying the six stains, possessing vast six qualities, the Well-gone is faultless. By purifying the six stains, Possessing all qualities, in order to offer to all Buddhas, with devotion I will bathe. (Recite this verse and pour water from the vase at the end of each line.) Then place the bathing basin, holding the vase with the left hand, and with the root of the kusha grass in the right hand, in accordance with each verse, sprinkle water from the vase upon the supports. The leader and assistants together ring the bell, and at the end of each verse, scatter barley upon the supports. For stinginess and greed, completely destroying and making them stainless, with a peaceful heart and no harm, may you bring auspiciousness! The guide who leads beings into the path of liberation, teaching all the Dharmas, may you bring auspiciousness! The teacher is the refuge of beings, for the benefit of all sentient beings, granting happiness, may you bring auspiciousness! The protector, with loving-kindness, constantly protects all these beings like an only child, may you bring auspiciousness! For beings wandering in samsara, becoming the refuge of all beings, becoming an island and a friend, may you bring auspiciousness! Completely realizing all Dharmas, pure and needing no washing, making the three pure, may you bring auspiciousness! The great hero was born, perfectly accomplishing everything, accomplishing all deeds, may you bring auspiciousness! When the places where he was born, including the forests, shook greatly, and all sentient beings rejoiced, may you bring auspiciousness! When he went to the Bodhi tree, the earth shook in six ways, and the maras became displeased, may you bring auspiciousness! When he turned the wheel of Dharma, he spoke the noble truths, and the fame of the Buddha spread, may you bring auspiciousness!
