Burning and blazing intensely, and within, the suffering and pain of all sentient beings also burn and blaze intensely, causing turmoil. In the Abhidharmakosha, it is said: 'The kalpa ends with weapons, disease, and famine. They proceed in order through days, months, and seven years.' Regarding 'Dharma Cloud' and 'Ocean Sound': The sound of the Dharma Cloud is the sacred Dharma sound that arises from the sky, which causes the rain of auspiciousness to fall. The sound of the Dharma Ocean is the sacred Dharma sound that enables one to understand the inexhaustible and unfathomable Dharma. Regarding the precious ornaments mentioned in the context of the Medicine Buddha: These refer to gold nose rings and the like. Adornments refer to gold crowns and the like. Garlands refer to pearl necklaces and the like. Anointment refers to the essence of fragrant perfume applied to the heart. The sound of musical instruments refers to all sounds that bring joy. Crisp sounds refer to the sounds of cymbals, small cymbals, bells, and all other musical instruments being played. It is said that 'striking' refers to the practice in Nepal where people hold a very small cymbal in each hand, left and right, and strike them against each other, which is called 'striking.' Crossing the hands and striking them together seems to be its mudra. It is said in the sutra: 'His consciousness returns, as if having seen a dream, to the place where he seeks to be born.' Two situations should be understood: The first situation is that of a patient afflicted with a severe illness, surrounded by relatives and sitting on their bed, the messengers of Yama lead and bring the patient's consciousness, which has the nature of wandering in various places, to the realm of the dead, causing the patient to have the illusion of arriving before the King of Dharma, Yama, and feeling fear due to the judgment of good and bad deeds. At this time, the relatives recite the name of the Medicine Buddha and perform offerings, etc., for seven days. The patient's consciousness, which was led away by the messengers of Yama, then returns, memory is restored, and the illness is also cured. The scenes that appeared in the consciousness before are like having seen a dream, which can be told to others. The second situation is that of a patient struck down by a severe illness who dies, and their consciousness takes on the intermediate state body, which is led away by the messengers of Yama and arrives before the King of Dharma, Yama, to receive judgment for good and bad deeds. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
