Oh! After doing that, prepare a vase in the center of Shakyamuni's (the founder of Buddhism) seat, and it is said that one should recite mantras and bathe. Although it is not clear what the mantra and deity are, it can be considered an empowerment of Vajrapani (a Dharma protector in Buddhism), or as described in the 'Manjushri-nama-samgiti' (The Sutra of the Names of Manjushri), it is a vase for a general deity empowerment. Third, how should the order of the ritual be performed? There are the ritual of practicing the Eight Tathagatas and the ritual of practicing Vajrapani. First, in the section on Vajrapani, 'We directly see the Tathagatas,' and 'They also make seven images,' the Tathagatas in this case refer to all eight Sugatas (another name for Tathagata), as clearly stated in the sutra. Since there is no mention of prostrating to them here, offer the offering by reciting their names. Then, focusing on the fact that in the heart of each of the eight Tathagatas, a garland of mantras is arranged on the lunar disc, one should recite the dharani called 'Vaiḍūrya-prabhā' (Sanskrit, referring to the light of lapis lazuli) one thousand and eight times. Here is the essence of all eight Tathagatas. In the sutra, Manjushri (the embodiment of wisdom) asked the eight Tathagatas, 'What is this dharani called Vaiḍūrya-prabhā?' In response, the eight Tathagatas spoke the dharani in one voice. The ritual also states that reciting it one thousand and eight times will cause all the Tathagatas to be pleased. After finishing the recitation, one should make the individual aspirations of the eight Tathagatas. Second, if the practitioner of this ritual specifically wants to practice Guhyapati (another name for Vajrapani), then have his image or thangka (scroll painting) facing the practitioner himself, focusing on the fact that a garland of mantras is arranged on the lunar disc in his heart, and prostrate to the seven perfectly enlightened Buddhas. Recite 'Tadyatha. Vajra Vajra' (Sanskrit, meaning: Thus it is. Vajra Vajra) etc., as much as possible, and you will see his face. Furthermore, if the practitioner wants Guhyapati, Brahma (the Hindu god of creation), Indra (a Dharma protector in Buddhism), and the Four Great Kings (Dharma protectors in Buddhism) to follow, protect, and shelter him, then recite 'Tadyatha. Aghu Maghu' (Sanskrit, meaning: Thus it is. Aghu Maghu) etc., as much as possible. In short, the deities of this ritual are the eight Tathagatas. The ritual is to recite their names and offer offerings, and to recite the dharani one thousand and eight times. The protectors here are Guhyapati and others. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thirdly, regarding the common rituals, it is sufficient to recite them as they are usually performed. 4-757 Placing the scriptures in front, the recitation of Dharani mantras is mentioned in the 'Root Tantra of Manjushri,' and it is also present here, to be recited for forty-nine days. It is clear from this that there is no separate ritual relying on the Dharma Jewel. Although phrases like 'The Tathagata's teachings are true' have no scriptural basis here, they are added by the ritual master to fulfill previously made vows. Among them, the verses of homage and offerings to the Dharma, and dispelling the darkness of ignorance, are not the works of the treatise writer. Since there are rituals relying on the Buddha and Sangha in the sections above and below, some may think that there should also be a ritual relying on the Dharma Jewel in the middle. However, if this were done, it would become too cumbersome, like the rituals of the 'Purification of the Lower Realms Tantra' and so on. In short, if only the explicitly stated teachings of the 'Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra' are performed, and the Sutra rituals that distinguish between Sutra and Tantra, then whether or not there is an arrangement of the celestial palace is fine. Similarly, whether or not the individual statues and scriptures of the Seven Tathagatas are actually present, a collection of symbols can be used as the object of focus. 4-758 In the stages of refuge and liberation, follow the arrangements of the rituals, perform homage and offerings, and make aspirations, then the benefits taught in the 'Manjushri Root Tantra' will arise, and the twelve Yaksha generals will become protectors. If performing only the Tantric rituals that distinguish between Sutra and Tantra, then in the center of the mandala, invite the Eight Tathagatas, with Shakyamuni Buddha as the main one, along with scriptures, the three Bodhisattvas, the two Devas, the twelve Yaksha generals, and the four Great Kings. One can first perform a common homage to the Eight Tathagatas, or not, and then make pure offerings, etc. Even if the individual aspiration prayers are not recited, simply recite the Dharani mantras and follow the arrangements of the rituals from the Vajrapani section. By doing so, one will receive the protection of the four Great Kings and even see Vajrapani directly, among other benefits. To which Tantra category does this belong? It belongs to the Action Tantra.
