If this is done, the benefits taught since the time of Mañjuśrī (འཇམ་དཔལ་) will arise, and the twelve Yaksha generals (གནོད་སྦྱིན་བཅུ་གཉིས་) will become protectors. If one performs the single mantra ritual divided by the two (referring to the 'Sutra of the Names of Eight Tathagatas' and the 'Sutra of Secret Lord Vajrapāṇi'), then in the center of the mandala, invite the eight Tathagatas (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་བརྒྱད་) with Śākyamuni (ཤཱཀྱ་ཐུབ་པ་) as the main deity, along with the scriptures (ཆོས་པོ་ཏི་), the three Bodhisattvas (བྱང་ཆུབ་སེམས་དཔའ་གསུམ་), the two divine kings (ལྷའི་དབང་པོ་གཉིས), the twelve Yaksha generals (གནོད་སྦྱིན་གྱི་སྡེ་དཔོན་བཅུ་གཉིས), and the four great kings (རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་བཞི་). Before or after prostrating universally to the eight Tathagatas (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་བརྒྱད་), make various pure offerings, etc. Even if the individual aspiration prayers are not recited, the mantra should be recited through mindfulness, and the procedures described in the Vajrapāṇi (ཕྱག་རྡོར་) ritual should be followed. By doing so, one will receive the protection of the four great kings (རྒྱལ་པོ་ཆེན་པོ་བཞི་) and the benefit of directly seeing Vajrapāṇi (ཕྱག་ན་རྡོ་རྗེ་), etc. To which tantra class does this ritual belong? It belongs to the Action Tantra (བྱ་བའི་རྒྱུད་), because it does not possess the characteristics of the other three tantras. Moreover, the ritual of the eight Tathagatas (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་བརྒྱད་) belongs to the Tathagata family (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་རིགས་) ritual, and the ritual of the Secret Lord (གསང་བའི་བདག་པོ་) belongs to the Vajra family (རྡོ་རྗེའི་རིགས་). What is the empowerment like in this mandala? In general, whichever Tathagata family (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པའི་རིགས་) mandala, or especially the Śākyamuni (ཤཱཀྱ་ཐུབ་པ་) mandala, once empowerment is received, one becomes an Acharya (སློབ་དཔོན་) of all three families of the Action Tantra (བྱ་བའི་རྒྱུད་), as stated in the 'General Tantra of Secrets' (གསང་བ་སྤྱི་རྒྱུད་). Those who say they give the empowerment and subsequent permission of the eight Tathagatas (དེ་བཞིན་གཤེགས་པ་བརྒྱད་) or the Medicine King (སྨན་པའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་) do not seem to have a source of pure lineage. In particular, the mantra 'Om Bhaishajye' (ཨོཾ་བྷེ་ཥ་ཛྱེ་,ओṃ भैषज्ये,oṃ bhaiṣajye,Om, Medicine) is not mentioned in this sutra as the heart mantra of the Medicine King (སྨན་རྒྱལ་), and even if it is the intention of the ritual text, it should appear in the chapter on the Medicine Buddha (སྨན་བླ་) itself, not elsewhere. Therefore, it is not the intention of the commentator either. Some have copied the heart mantra of the Medicine Buddha (སྨན་བླ་) from other sutras. Therefore, the mantra for reciting to bathe is the mantra called 'Vaiḍūrya Light' (བཻཌཱུ་ཪྻའི་འོད་). If there is a lineage practice of the Medicine King (སྨན་པའི་རྒྱལ་པོ་), then the mantra is that one, and there is no other. Then, why is this ritual known as having the Medicine Buddha (སྨན་བླ་) as the main deity? Because that is important. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The explanation of these is that 'Phags pa skyabs grol (Noble Savior) extensively explained to Kungawo the unique ritual of offering to the Medicine Buddha (sman bla). Specifically, offering to the seven body images of the Medicine Buddha, offering no less than seven lamps and seven five-colored banners in front of each image. In terms of time, practicing continuously for seven weeks, and observing the ritual of fasting during these seven weeks. In terms of ritual, reciting the name of the Medicine Buddha seven times three times during the day and three times during the night, and mainly performing the seven-branch offering (yan lag bdun pa) seven times. In addition, reciting the twelve great vows of the Medicine Buddha seven times, the purpose of doing so is to be liberated from serious illnesses and to avoid the harm of enemy armies and constellations. In summary, there are three types of rituals mentioned in this text: rituals based on the sutra itself, rituals based on mantras, and common ordinary rituals. The first ritual includes the common ritual of offering to the Eight Tathagatas (de bzhin gshegs pa brgyad ka), and the unique ritual of offering to the Medicine Buddha alone. The difference between the second ritual is that Manjushri ('jam dpal) requested Shakyamuni Buddha (shakya thub pa) to teach the ritual of offering to the Seven Tathagatas, and the Buddha agreed. 'Phags pa skyabs grol (Noble Savior), without being asked, directly narrated the unique ritual of offering to the Medicine Buddha. He asked the Buddha for instructions and narrated it to Ananda. The second ritual is also divided into offering to the Eight Tathagatas and offering to Vajrapani (phyag na rdo rje) alone. Therefore, there are five types of rituals in total. If further subdivided, the first six Tathagatas can also be offered unique rituals separately, making a total of eleven rituals. The ritual of offering to Shakyamuni Buddha cannot be classified as a unique ritual, because it universally applies to all seven Buddhas. In order to clarify the purpose, even if a unique offering ritual appears, it will not go beyond the first category of mantras. The order of how to combine the scriptures: Third, regarding the order of how to combine the scriptures, the 'Eight Hundred Sutras' (mdo brgyad brgya pa), which elaborates on the special features of the past aspirations of the Seven Tathagatas, will be explained through three aspects. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
