临终之际，八位菩萨以神通降临，指引道路，往生极乐世界。 听闻药师王之名者，将往生天界。 从天界逝世后，也不会堕入恶道，而是转生为转轮圣王，或伟大的刹帝利种姓，或伟大的婆罗门种姓，或伟大的居士。 任何听闻药师王之名的女子，都将是最后一次转生为女子，之后不会再转生为女性。 供养药师王的利益也有很多。《经》中说：‘妙吉祥，凡有具信心的善男子或善女子，供养如来，塑造如来之像，守持八关斋戒七日七夜，清净饮食，沐浴身躯，穿着干净无垢的衣服，在清净之处，以各种鲜花铺设，焚烧各种香，用绸缎、伞盖和各种幢幡庄严场地，以无垢之心、无杂染之心、无害人之心、慈悲之心、舍心和平等心，演奏音乐、敲击乐器、歌唱赞歌，绕佛像，忆念如来往昔的愿力，宣讲此经，那么他所思所想、所求所愿，都将圆满成就。如果祈愿长寿，就能长寿。如果祈愿财富，就能获得财富。如果希望拥有权势，就能轻易获得。如果想要儿子，就能得到儿子。 凡是做了恶梦，或者看到不祥之兆，或者有种种不吉利的事情发生的地方，如果有人以各种方式供养世尊、如来、药师琉璃光王，那么他将不会再见到恶梦、不祥之兆和不吉利的事物。 凡是害怕火灾、水灾、兵器、毒药、悬崖、凶猛的大象、老虎、熊和豺狼的'

At the time of death, eight Bodhisattvas will descend with their magical powers to guide the way, leading to rebirth in Sukhavati (the Pure Land of Amitabha). Those who hear the name of the Medicine King will be reborn in the heavens. After passing away from the heavens, they will not fall into evil realms, but will be reborn as a Chakravartin (Wheel-Turning King), or a great Kshatriya (warrior caste), or a great Brahmin (priestly caste), or a great householder. Any woman who hears the name of the Medicine King will have her last rebirth as a woman, and will not be reborn as a woman again. The benefits of making offerings to the Medicine King are also numerous. The Sutra says: 'Manjushri, any son or daughter of good family who has faith, makes offerings to the Tathagata (Thus Gone One), makes an image of the Tathagata, observes the eight precepts for seven days and nights, eats pure food, bathes the body, wears clean and immaculate clothes, and in a clean place, spreads various flowers, burns various incenses, and adorns the place with silk, umbrellas, and various banners, with a mind free from defilement, a mind free from impurity, a mind free from harm, a mind of loving-kindness, a mind of equanimity, plays music, strikes instruments, sings songs of praise, circumambulates the image of the Tathagata, remembers the past vows of the Tathagata, and teaches this Sutra, then whatever he thinks, whatever he wishes, will be completely fulfilled. If he wishes for long life, he will have long life. If he wishes for wealth, he will have wealth. If he wishes for power, he will obtain it easily. If he wants a son, he will get a son.' And those who are terrified by poisonous snakes and fierce beasts, Those who are terrified by sins and physical disabilities, if they make offerings to the Tathagata (如来), they will be completely liberated from all fears. Those who are terrified by enemy armies and thieves should also make offerings to the Tathagata (如来).' Furthermore, those who have fallen from the precepts they have taken and will go to evil destinies, if they make offerings to the King of Medicine (Bhaisajyaraja, 药王), they will be free from the fear of evil destinies. Those women who are experiencing the suffering of childbirth, if they make offerings to the King of Medicine (Bhaisajyaraja, 药王), will give birth to children with complete limbs without suffering. To ascertain the meaning of the essential core, and to summarize and practice the meaning of the core. Seventh, to ascertain the meaning of the essential core: Therefore, with a mind of great reverence, praise that supremely wonderful name, expressing it in many ways, this is the essential core of the meaning. Thus, with great reverence, reciting and contemplating the names of the Seven Tathagatas (七如来) in many ways is the essential core meaning of this sutra and ritual. Because the Tathagatas (如来) in the past, on the path of learning, in countless kalpas, when they themselves attained perfect complete enlightenment, made the aspiration that reciting the name would bring such and such benefits. These aspirations were perfectly fulfilled at the time of becoming a Buddha. Shakyamuni Buddha (释迦牟尼佛) also regarded it as an extremely wonderful and profound key point, so he spoke in the midst of the assembly for the benefit of sentient beings. Eighth, to summarize the meaning of the core and put it into practice: Recite the name of each of the Seven Sugatas (善逝), seven times or twenty-one times, one hundred and eight times, etc. First prostrate and practice the Seven Limbs Practice (七支供), constantly and without interruption.'
