Finally, recite words such as 'not attained' and 'lost'. Then, if there is a support (rten, such as a Buddha statue or Thangka), perform the long-life ceremony (brtan bzhugs), and if there isn't, perform the ceremony of requesting to return (gshegs gsol). After that, recite the verses of auspiciousness. Sixth, contemplate the greatness of the benefits of the ritual: It is said: 'By respectfully reciting the names of the Seven Sugatas, benefits arise for oneself and others due to past aspirations.' That is, reciting the name of the Tathagata Whose Name is Excellent (mtshan legs) brings eight benefits: Diseases and demonic obstacles are pacified; abandoning sensory defects, the senses become complete; completely abandoning evil deeds and their evil consequences; treasuries of jewels, grains, etc., are enriched; abandoning bodily sufferings such as bondage, beatings, and wounds from weapons; abandoning threats from fire, lions, tigers, and venomous snakes; Abandoning fear and panic caused by fighting; when entering a great river, one can cross without fear of death. Reciting the name of the Tathagata Precious Moon (rin chen zla ba) also has eight benefits: Enjoyments such as food, clothing, and drink increase; virtuous qualities increase; the mind of Bodhicitta does not depart from the mind; complete liberation from the suffering of samsara, this is the first set of benefits. Karmic obscurations are purified; complete liberation from the place of birth; experiencing the happiness of gods and humans, this is the second set of benefits. Abandoning the suffering of childbirth, liberation from the female body, this is the third set of benefits. The harms of death, enemies, and solitary places are pacified; separation from the sorrow of parents, sisters, friends, and relatives, this is the fourth set of benefits. Abandoning the fear of wandering in the darkness of night, tormented by sinful demons, this is the fifth set of benefits. Abandoning the state of being interested in inferior teachings, having little wisdom, dull memory, and falling away from virtuous qualities; Samadhi, mindfulness, the doors of dharani, and perfect wisdom increase, this is the sixth set of benefits. Abandoning the grounds of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, attaining perfect Bodhi and never turning back, this is the seventh set of benefits. Abandoning the suffering of the intermediate kalpa of famine, after death, being reborn as a Tathagata... --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eighth, one will be born in the Buddha-field of that Tathagata. Reciting the name of the Tathagata Golden Auspicious has four benefits: First, past sins such as killing will be completely purified, and one will not be touched by various diseases and untimely death, thus becoming long-lived; second, past sins such as stealing will be purified, thus becoming rich and powerful; third, beings will not have thoughts of harming each other, but will be friendly to each other; and fourth, moral failings and the faults of their afflictions will be completely purified, thus the body, speech, and mind will abide in discipline, and the thought of Bodhicitta will never be separated from the mind. Reciting the name of Free from Sorrow, Supreme Glory has four benefits: Sorrow, suffering, displeasure, and conflict will be completely pacified, one will not experience the suffering of separation, thus becoming long-lived; one will not experience the suffering of hunger, thirst, and poverty, thus becoming rich in resources and adorned with the radiance of a divine body; and the diseases and harms caused by yakshas, rakshasas, and flesh-eaters will be pacified. The second of the four great vows made by this Tathagata in the past is the vow that when he becomes a Buddha, the suffering of hell will be pacified by the light of his body. Furthermore, the sutra says: 'Manjushri, whoever hears the name of the Bhagavan, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Samyak-sambuddha Free from Sorrow, Supreme Glory, and recites it three times during the day and three times during the night, and cherishes loving-kindness towards all sentient beings, and makes offerings to that Tathagata, all their karmic obscurations will be completely purified, they will be liberated from all sorrow, suffering, displeasure, and conflict, they will live long and be liberated from all diseases, they will always be endowed with health, they will not fall into evil destinies until the end of Bodhi, they will be able to remember their past lives, they will be born by transformation in the Buddha-field of that Tathagata, on a lion throne formed from the heart of a lotus of seven jewels, and they will be protected by the gods.
