Furthermore, these rituals of today, whether performed for the deceased so-and-so, with their name inscribed, are also mentioned in the treatises of many qualified scholars who perform these rituals. Inscribing one's own name or the name of the intended recipient clarifies the intention and intensifies the aspiration. By this key point, whatever is wished for is sure to be accomplished. Therefore, depending on the specific situation, it is permissible to inscribe one's own name or the name of the benefactor, or to simply recite general terms such as 'we' as they appear in the ritual text, without inscribing one's own name or the name of the intended recipient. As long as the ritual is pure and the meaning is clear, there will be no fault, and I think this practice is very reasonable. Secondly, regarding the meaning of the ritual texts, some scholars have spread many incorrect explanations, which I will now briefly correct: 'To take the *dharmadhatu* as abandonment is wrong; the explanation of the immeasurable palace is mistaken; the reasons for offering food are confused; and the meaning of the ritual implements is also wandering.' They say that understanding '*dharmadhatu* (法界)' in 'the *dharmadhatu* is completely pure' as the ultimate state of abandoning obscurations, or as the nature of the mind of those with good fortune, is both wrong. Because abandonment is the relative truth, and the pointing to the nature of sentient beings' minds leads to the arising of qualities such as purity, therefore, relying on the power of truth, it is not helpful to immediately accomplish a pure realm. Being surrounded by precious walls refers to the walls surrounding the outer perimeter of the *mandala* (坛城). 'All places are extremely distinct' refers to not being mixed with impure realms, or to the *Tathagatas* (如来) appearing in their respective places to tame their respective disciples. 'Completely without interruption' refers to the fact that for fortunate disciples, such a magnificent realm can be seen wherever they are. 'Free from all defilements of afflictive harm' refers to being free from defilements, dust, and so on, that are produced by the power of afflictions. From 'mindfulness' to the 'three doors of liberation', it should be connected with the King of Precious Lotuses. Just as a lotus arises from mud and so on, it arises from the mindfulness that holds limitless *dharma* (佛法) doors, the wisdom of practice, and the realization of direct experience. Just as a lotus undergoes changes in temperature and moisture, it undergoes the distinctions of *shamatha* (止观) and *vipashyana* (内观). Just as a lotus is unstained, it enters. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Understanding everything written as wrong, for example, understanding 'The King of Precious Lotuses who enters through the three doors of liberation from obscurations in this way' as the precious outer wall being the outer environment of the world, or surrounded by lakes and ponds, and understanding the thorough separation of places, also understanding it as separating thousands of different places within an immeasurable palace, and understanding completely uninterrupted as being very large in area, and understanding being free from all the defilements of afflictions as not giving rise to the harm of afflictions, becoming a door to benefit and happiness, and understanding that it will necessarily arise through mindfulness, wisdom, and great realization, etc., also understanding the special combination of the lower lotus of the immeasurable palace as being very unreasonable. When blessing objects, the previously mentioned food and clothing are because gods and humans mainly value food and clothing, so it is spoken from that perspective, which is also wrong, because the difference that gods and humans mainly value food and do not mainly value drinks is not established, if that were the case, then when making offerings, the previously mentioned offering water and incense are also what gods and humans mainly value, which has already been said before. Understanding 'mudra' as holding in the hand and practicing is also completely wrong, because the teacher Shakyamuni Buddha will allow the beings of the Saha world to experience it. 'The sound of the unplayed cymbals, the evil omen, the burning birth, or the manifestation of the mind,' such an explanation is strange. What is specifically struck and played is not the cymbal, but the bell, etc. Evil is the evil omen of heretics, etc. The understanding that when the great kalpa is destroyed, the entire Jambudvipa burns and burns fiercely. Before the vessel world is burned by fire, the essence of beings has disappeared, so crying and grieving here, etc., is to make those to be tamed generate aversion, or it is said that some beings have such manifestations due to karma.' Such an understanding is also wrong, if that were the case, then the sound of the bell, etc., that is specifically struck and played would not be a cymbal, and the two-headed monkey that appeared relying on the evil mantra of the heretics would be evil, and the illusory beings. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
