As it is said, 'Outer and Inner Knowledge,' to become a scholar, the fields or objects to be studied are the five sciences. This great being first grasps the five sciences, then explains them, and finally fully comprehends them, and by dedicating himself to this, he ultimately attains perfection. He does not engage in any enjoyment of gains, respect, food, drink, sleep, etc., nor in any contemplation of the eight worldly concerns. He diligently studies the Sutras, Tantras, and Shastras, achieving complete mastery. Therefore, whenever he teaches the Dharma, he never makes a mistake, not even in half a word, and he can speak effortlessly from his heart, which is an evident fact. In reality, he is also a scholar proficient in meaning. Whatever treatise summarizes the five sciences, he fully understands its words and meanings without any distortion, and he is able to compose treatises based on that understanding. Once he understands the words, he comprehends the meaning without any distortion. He does not merely content himself with understanding the words, which is a quality possessed by this noble being. Therefore, whenever he teaches any scripture, he gives a thorough explanation, and he clearly points out the core meaning, stating, 'This is the essence of this teaching.' In this aspect, he is unmatched by others, which is an evident fact. Whether he engages in teaching, debating, or writing, he focuses primarily on the meaning rather than the words, and through this approach, he guides sentient beings onto the path of liberation. Second, as a monastic guide: In general, this venerable Lama, due to habits cultivated from countless past lives, does not engage in any misconduct with his body, speech, or mind. In particular, considering that the precious discipline of morality is the root of the teachings, he meticulously observes all the precepts to be followed, from the most subtle to the most significant, and he properly adopts and abandons accordingly. Even his monastic symbols and attire are appropriate and in accordance with the rules. All his conduct is in harmony with the Dharma and the Vinaya. His body, speech, and mind are peaceful, disciplined, and mindful. All his actions are beautiful and dignified. He always carries the unique fragrance of morality, not any other scent. Wherever he resides, the place is always clean, neat, and pleasing. He does not discriminate against people of high or low status, nor does he utter hurtful words, nor does he display any unpleasant expressions. He is not attached to gains and respect, but guides others with a pure intention. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Abandoning all evil thoughts and actions like poison, without a trace of defilement. Especially, first taking the vows of Śrāmaṇera and Bhikṣu, and until Parinirvana, without the slightest defilement of meat, alcohol, and eggs. Through the yoga of the channels, winds, and bindus, increasing the Bodhicitta in its own place. With these two qualities, he also subdued all those who boast of being wise, virtuous, and excellent. Therefore, regarding the body, speech, and mind activities and all the conduct of this great being, such faults are not seen by anyone who has stayed near the feet of the master for a long time. He became like one who has taken the Bhikṣu vows and is a hundred years old, with disciplined conduct, and among those who respect the precepts, he is praised as the foremost, like the son of the venerable Kātyāyana; among the beauties of learning, he is like the great Mahākāśyapa; among those with tamed behavior, he is praised as the best, like the horse tamer, without being stained by the defilements of offenses, possessing both the qualities of steadfastness and wisdom, and abiding as the best among those who hold the monastic robes. Third, how he attained the qualities of goodness: This noble Lama, at night, is not distracted from many yogas of the generation and completion stages, and during the day, from the perspective of the profound view of non-differentiation between Saṃsāra and Nirvāṇa, he spends his time solely on the activities of the Buddha's teachings, such as teaching, debating, and writing. He is especially loving to all, high and low, and does not do even the slightest harm to others. He has no trace of envy or competition with others. He never strives for gain, honor, or greatness. Especially, placing the three root Lamas—the supreme guide Chöje, Jetsun Sangrin, and Jamyang Salo—in the center of his heart, he constantly prays with the understanding that they are inseparable from the chosen deity, so he is foretold about all good and bad deeds. Occasionally, when showing signs of slight illness, he would first explain the cause of the illness, then explain the treatment, and finally say how much he has recovered, etc. Once, on top of the Labrang of E-wam Monastery, he directly saw Kunkhyen Butön. Also, once, Je Sangye Rinchen appeared in a dream and prophesied, 'Write the text of the four-armed Avalokiteśvara, make Torma offerings, otherwise, the power of others will not come.' During the hundredfold offering of the Torma to the Teacher, from the corner of the eye of the protector's hall of E-wam… --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
