I searched everywhere, but could not find it. Once, I saw that a attendant of a monk practitioner from Magadha had the signs (of a ḍākinī). I offered maṇḍalas (Maṇḍala, offering) and various auspicious items to the monk practitioner again and again. 3-200 When he said, 'Do you want my secret instruction?', the vidyādhara (rig 'dzin, vidyādhara, mantra holder) said, 'I want this attendant of yours who has the signs of a hero.' So he gave the attendant to the vidyādhara. Then the two of them went to the practice room, and a pile of rotten corpses was in the center of the maṇḍala. Then the vidyādhara said to the novice monk, 'You have the signs of a hero towards the corpse, so don't be afraid, cut off the tongue of this corpse. When the tongue turns into a golden sword, give it to me. I can go anywhere with it, I am going to Akaniṣṭha ('og min, Akaniṣṭha, the highest pure land) to practice vidyādhara. This corpse will turn into gold, and I will give it to you as a gift.' The novice agreed. The novice monk rode on the corpse and allowed the vidyādhara to cut off the tongue with a knife. The corpse moved, its eyes flickered, and its mouth kept moving, but it only caught a little bit of silk-like thing and did not catch the whole tongue. It failed twice. Then the vidyādhara said, 'If you don't cut off the tongue of the corpse, it will kill the two of us first, and then it will come to kill all the beings of the three thousand worlds and the three realms (srid pa gsum, three realms), so concentrate and cut it off!' Then the novice monk faced the corpse, concentrated, grabbed the tongue and cut it off, and the tongue turned into a sword and flew into the sky. 3-201 The novice monk flew in the sky. The vidyādhara said, 'You will fail in Buddhism, so give me the sword and let it come to me like butter!' The novice monk said, 'Even so, I will watch the show.' So he went to the top of Mount Sumeru (ri rab, Sumeru, mountain of the gods) and saw the four continents, Mount Sumeru, the sun, moon, and stars, and the four peaks of the thirty-three (sum cu rtsa gsum, Trayastriṃśa) gods. Then he threw the sword towards Jambudvīpa ('dzam bu'i gling, Jambudvīpa, the southern continent), and the sword landed in front of the vidyādhara. The vidyādhara said, 'Let the novice monk cut the corpse that has turned into gold. This can sustain the lives of five hundred monks. Do not cut the bones, if you cut them, it will become a wrong livelihood and will not grow again later.' Otherwise, even if it is cut today, it will grow back at night.' After saying that, he himself threw the sword into the sky and went to Akaniṣṭha. The novice monk said to the master monk, 'We need to build a temple as a residence for our five hundred monks, so please make a torma (gtor ma, baliṃ, offering cake) to request land from the protectors!' So he made a torma, but it was carried away by a crow. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the middle of a lake was an island. On that island, a temple was built, modeled after Mount Meru, the four continents, the eight subcontinents, the sun, and the moon. This temple was called Otantapuri (Sanskrit: Otantapuri, name of the temple). The great king thought that the model for building temples should be based on this, to build an unparalleled temple that does not conflict with the Tripitaka (the three parts of Buddhism: Sutra, Vinaya, and Abhidhamma) and all the Tantric scriptures, and has very great blessings. Therefore, the king said, 'Let us use it as a model.' The king was very pleased. 'Therefore, you are immensely kind, please ask Khenpo Rinpoche to bless this land.' He made a request. The Khenpo said, 'Your Tibetan ghosts and spirits are very fierce. I am taming them with the mind of Bodhicitta, but I don't know if I can succeed. Let the king lay the foundation himself.' Then, the Khenpo blessed the land. The king put on white silk clothes, held gold in his hand, and began to dig the foundation. About a fathom deep, a khal (unit of weight) of white rice was dug out, and there were many substances like ghee residue, yellowish in color, very sweet in taste, and like sugar. The king himself ate it and smeared it on his head. The king said, 'My wish will be fulfilled, and the Dharma will be propagated in Tibet.' Then, the foundation was laid and construction began. Twenty-one lay practitioners (Buddhist lay practitioners) and other powerful Tibetan Yakshas (Sanskrit: Yaksa, a type of deity) and powerful Rakshasis (Sanskrit: Rakshasi, a type of female ghost) hindered the construction, destroying what was built during the day at night, making it impossible to build. So, they asked the master, 'Do you have any other methods?' The master said, 'I have thoroughly understood all the teachings of the Sutras and have generated the mind of Bodhicitta. However, I cannot subdue these fierce Tibetan ghosts and spirits. I have a method.' He said, 'These fierce Tibetan Nagas and demons must be subdued with force. Therefore, in the Yangleshöd (place name) cave in Nepal, there is a son of the King of Oddiyana, named Guru Padmasambhava (Sanskrit: Padmasambhava), who is an emanation, has great power and ability, and practices Tantra. If he is invited, the king's wish will be fulfilled, and these fierce non-humans can be subdued.' Then, the king received this revelation in a dream and announced to all internal and external attendants, 'Last night, I dreamed that in the Yangleshöd cave on the border of India and Nepal, there lives a Guru Padmasambhava (Sanskrit: Padmasambhava) of Oddiyana.' --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
