Then (the Queen) felt very happy. After that, the Queen's body had no discomfort, no shaking, throbbing, or sexual activity occurred, her consciousness was clear, her body was light and comfortable, and afflictions no longer arose. Thereafter, at nine months and ten days, the Queen gave birth to Prince Trisong Detsen (Trisong Detsen) safely in the Phobrang Drakmar. He was born with a full set of neat white teeth, his hair was dark blue and coiled to the right, he was extremely handsome, like a son of the gods. He was born in the year of the Horse, on the auspicious dawn of the first month of spring, as the sun rose. He was named Trisong Detsen (Trisong Detsen). Thereafter, when the prince was five years old, Zhang Khrompa Kye of the Nanam clan and the Nanam people claimed that Prince Trisong Detsen (Trisong Detsen) was their nephew, and relying on the Queen's power, they came to snatch the prince. Then, all the ministers gathered together and held a grand feast, and made the prince identify whether his mother was Han Chinese or from the Nanam clan. Prince Trisong Detsen (Trisong Detsen) raised his right hand and declared to the assembly: 'Trisong Detsen (Trisong Detsen) is of Han Chinese descent and has nothing to do with the Zhang of the Nanam clan!' After that, he mastered all the fields of knowledge. When he was thirteen years old, his father, Tride Tsuktsen (Tride Tsuktsen), passed away and ascended to the heavens. Prince Trisong Detsen (Trisong Detsen) ascended the throne and took three queens: Tsepong Za Metok Drol, Phoyong Za Gyalmo Tsun, and Drom Za Jangchub Men. For the next seven years, he guarded the outer borders, maintained internal stability, and governed the country. Thereafter, in the year of the Ox when he was twenty years old, he had the thought of promoting the Dharma. The previous king, Songtsen Gampo (Songtsen Gampo), also translated many Buddhist scriptures in the borderland of Tibet, built representations of body, speech, and mind, and initiated the tradition of promoting the Dharma, bestowing great kindness upon Tibet. Now I must also find a way to promote and spread the Dharma. First, I must build a palace to enshrine the Three Jewels, as a place of faith for the people, and also as a place for my own practice.' Although he thought this way, most of the ministers were malicious and very resistant to the Dharma. Therefore, he devised the following methods: he held a grand feast with all the ministers, following the example of the previous kings and ancestors. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some discussed how to arrange affairs, and how to handle affairs and establish royal laws and religious laws. The king presented the ministers with choices: either to build a glass castle on a peak like Sharri Gyalpo (Eastern Mountain King) that could see the Chinese region; or to put the Yarlung Tsangpo River (a river in the Ü-Tsang region) into a copper tube; or to measure the sand of Ngamshö Valley (place name) with a bushel; or to make all the copper nails of Haspo Mountain (place name) have their heads facing inward; or to fill Yarlung Valley (place name) with gold; or to build a temple the size of a palm on the plain of Yombok (place name). Although the ministers were not enthusiastic about the Dharma and were unwilling to build temples to enshrine Buddha statues, considering that the other tasks could not be accomplished, they finally agreed to build the temple. After that, the Tsenpo (Tibetan king), at the age of twenty-one, in the year of the Tiger, decided to lay the foundation. Having heard that there was a great scholar named Bodhisattva (菩提萨埵) in the sacred land of India, he sent the translator Jñāna Kumāra (嘉纳古玛) with a bag of gold, two servants, and three messengers to invite him. Bodhisattva said that because of a karmic connection with the Tibetan king from a previous life, he had to go. After arriving in Tibet, they met the king. The king said to him: 'Venerable Master, I would like to build a temple as a shrine for my own faith and the Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), and as a place of faith for the people. What do you think about building it according to the shape of the Four Great Continents, subcontinents, Mount Meru, and the Iron Mountains?' The master replied: 'The glorious Drakmar Samye Monastery (temple name) is a place that can bring great blessings to Jambudvipa (the Earth). It will be in accordance with all the Sutras, Vinaya, and Abhidharma (the three baskets of Buddhism), as well as all the Tantric scriptures, and will be unparalleled.' Then, the king asked Khenpo Rinpoche (尊称) if he also thought so. The Khenpo replied: 'Of course I know, I have also seen such a temple in Odantapuri (place name), which is also called the Odantapuri Temple.' The king asked: 'Since that's the case, that's great, what is it like?' King, please listen carefully to what I say, I will tell you its history: A long time ago, there was a practitioner of a heretical lineage who practiced corpse yoga to gain accomplishments. In order to obtain siddhi (成就), he needed a servant with special marks.
