There is no other way. To rely on the guru properly is the third essential point of the path. It is not permissible to meditate on secret mantras without empowerment. And empowerment should not be deficient in ritual. Therefore, from a qualified lama, Receiving the four empowerments is the fourth essential point of the path. If one does not keep the vows even after receiving empowerment, Then the harm is greater than the benefit, and one will fall into the Vajra Hell. If one keeps the vows, then accomplishments will be obtained effortlessly. Protecting them like one's life is the fifth essential point of the path. A person who has received empowerment and keeps the vows, Must be able to be independent when practicing. Therefore, regarding the meaning of generation and completion stages, through study and reflection, Cutting through elaborations is the sixth essential point of the path. When elaborations have been cut through by listening, If one clings to words, one will not experience the profound meaning, Therefore, to strive to accomplish the remainder of one's life in a secluded place, The vow to dedicate oneself is the seventh essential point of the path. There, if wisdom and compassion, Become separated, one will not find the supreme path, Therefore, holding union as the life force of the path, Is the eighth essential point of the infallible mantra path. From great emptiness up to the stages of gathering in, In whatever object of focus, abandon the five faults, Rely on the eight activities, and abandon dullness and excitement, Reciting clearly and purely is the ninth essential point of the path. In order to train ordinary appearances and attachments into the expanse, Remembering distinctly and purely, And becoming very familiar with the three of stable pride, Restraining conceptual thoughts is the tenth essential point of the path. From renunciation up to the restraining of conceptual thoughts, Having these ten is the true path, Even if only one of them is deficient, It is extremely difficult to go on the true path. Therefore, from the stage of the first step, All these ten are essential points of the key instructions. Therefore, if one can put them into practice as explained, Then there is the opportunity to enter the second stage. This is an intermediate clarification. Now, regarding the way to enter the generation stage, there are also: learning the sequential generation and completion stages depending on the order of faculties, and the way to abandon what is to be abandoned; and learning the yoga of indivisible depth and clarity, generation and completion stages, and union; in the generation stage, there is also the sequence of thoroughly combining the certainty of the three, purification, completion, and maturation; and learning the generation as instantaneous recollection and completion, as a way of completion, and so on. This is also explained in the tantras, and the wise ones of the past have also explained it in this way.

Therefore, one should not make distinctions of affirmation and negation, saying, "This is true, and that is not correct," due to clinging to one side. For the realms and faculties of sentient beings are inconceivable, and the realm of the Tathagata's wisdom is also inconceivable. Otherwise, there is no fault in separately establishing the ways of practice according to the differences of beings with superior, middling, and inferior faculties, and the differences of whether or not they have previously engaged in training. Having made such distinctions, it is also necessary to practice in accordance with the capacity of each individual's mind. Therefore, those who are beginners entering the Mantrayana, who are unable to engage in the meaning of spontaneously accomplished Great Perfection from the beginning, should gradually become familiar with the yoga of great emptiness, the yoga of compassionate illusion, the yoga of one seal, and the yoga of elaborate seals. Moreover, since I am the Buddha of the past, the Tathagatas are my sons, and in order to ensure that the lineage does not perish and is spontaneously accomplished, I am the son of the Tathagatas. From such a causal Vajradhara, one arises as the resultant Vajradhara, initiating the vast generation stage, such as spreading the mandala, etc. This is the ritual for primarily purifying the habitual tendencies of egg-born beings. Alternatively, one purifies the three gatherings of sperm, essence, and mind, together with their results, and manifests them as the nature of the five wisdoms, realizing enlightenment, or perfecting them as the three vajras, in the vast generation stage, which is the ritual for primarily purifying the habitual tendencies of womb-born beings. It is crucial to learn to become familiar with these. Beyond that, for those with sharp faculties who do not like elaboration, meditating only on the seed syllable of the cause and the mantra of the condition of generation, along with the support and the supported, is the condensed generation stage, which is the ritual for primarily purifying the habitual tendencies of moisture-born beings. If a being is extremely sharp, without relying even on the mantra of cause and condition, meditating on the self-radiance of the nature of self-aware Bodhicitta, the wheel of support and supported, self-luminous and spontaneously accomplished, is the extremely condensed generation stage, which is the ritual for primarily purifying the habitual tendencies of miraculously born beings. These should also be in accordance with one's own mind.
