Thus it is said. Also, in the Sutra of Prophecies of Intentions, it says: Bhikshus, in times when it is in accordance with and beneficial to the realm of beings, the Buddhas should also teach the Dharma to beings in an inferior form. Thus it is said. In the Tantra Stainless King, it says: Victorious One, skillful in means, great compassionate one, in the future, in later times, I will also be in the form of a teacher. Thus it is said. In the Sutra of the Immaculate Goddess, it says: Whichever beings are suitable to be tamed, according to the inclinations of their minds, I will also tame beings in the form of householders and so on. Thus it is said. The Buddha, being of great compassion, also emanates as the four elements and so on to benefit beings. As it says in the Secret Essence Tantra: Great elements, Blessed One, beings live in happiness. Thus and so on, in general, the lama is the actual Buddha. In particular, the lama who leads us without error on the path to liberation during the time of the five degenerations is the actual Buddha. The kindness of the lama is even greater than that of the Buddha, for even though the teachings of the Buddha have blessings, the lama saves us from the wrong path, leads us to the path of liberation, introduces us to our own mind as the Dharmakaya, and places us in the position of holding hands with the Buddha. Therefore, we must have more devotion and respect for the lama than for the Buddha. If that is not born, then the connection for practicing the path to Buddhahood in one lifetime will be missed. So, in any case, from many doors, we must have the devotion and respect for the lama as for the Buddha, without wavering for a moment. If we do that, the blessings of the lama and the realization of the lineage will be transferred, and we will see the lama as the Buddha. The appearance of devotion and respect will arise naturally, without artificiality, and the lama will steal our clinging, and our appearance will become inseparable from the lama. To that, we must apply ourselves with one-pointedness. The beginning of the history and so on, it is good to explain in accordance with the guiding texts of the Dakini Heart Essence, such as the Lamp Illuminating the Profound Path. During the common preliminaries, after the refuge field has been gathered into oneself and so on, during the session breaks, one looks at one's own mind by oneself, and does that mind-nature remain naturally in a state of forgetting everything, or does it seem to scatter into various thoughts? Whatever the state, there is a recognition or feeling that knows what it is doing. Like that, the one who feels is always

Without forgetting, whatever thoughts arise, recognize that "this is just the appearance of thoughts," and do not separate from this recognition; even if no thoughts arise, recognize that "no thoughts are arising." If you continuously practice in this way, even if you have not received instructions on the stages of completion, it will have great significance in preventing thoughts from naturally falling into confusion. This is not about stopping the arising of thoughts and then abandoning the mind, but simply observing how the mind naturally operates. When you rest in the way the present ordinary consciousness manifests, various experiences will arise according to each individual's situation, but for some who have faith and receive blessings, meditation without any artificiality may arise. In any case, apart from letting the mind rest naturally, no artificial contrivance is needed, and you should learn to merely recognize the arising of thoughts and the appearance of the six senses. If you become accustomed to this and can control the mind with mindfulness so that it does not become distracted and lost, then when you later meet an experienced lama, you will be able to understand and grasp the correct method of meditation more easily. First, in the intervals between practicing the instructions on the difficulty of finding leisure and endowments, etc., you should learn practices that accord with the Dharma, such as prostrations and circumambulation, which are the practices of the accomplished master Padma Rigdzin. Furthermore, each time you practice the preliminaries, you should visualize the field of merit and refuge as clearly as possible, and during the practice of the introductory instructions for increasing faith and daily practice, do not dissolve the refuge field, but keep it as a witness to bodhicitta. The mandala should also be used as a field for accumulating merit, and dissolving the mandala is for the convenience of practical practice. In addition, during non-instructional practice periods, for uninterrupted yoga, you can practice from the preliminary refuge and generation of bodhicitta to guru yoga four or six times a day, or even during scattered times. Even if you have not completed the special preliminaries, that is fine, this is the word of the guru, it is very good! The second special point of Dzogchen is the profound path of actual practice instructions, which are divided into: the path of Trekchö, which reveals the nature of original purity (Tibetan: ཀ་དག་, Sanskrit Devanagari: कादा, Sanskrit Romanization: kāda, Chinese literal meaning: original purity) as being free from elaboration; and the path of Tögal, which directly reveals the wisdom of spontaneous presence (Tibetan: ལྷུན་གྲུབ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: सिद्ध, Sanskrit Romanization: siddha, Chinese literal meaning: accomplishment). First, in the first aspect, there are also the instructions for abiding in the nature.
