Since its essence is primordially free from effort and enlightened in the ultimate sense, the primordial protector manifests as fully enlightened. In the *Transcending Mind* it says: Thus, from the beginning of samsara and nirvana, the Buddha has not appeared in error, from the ground one knows that the self-appearance of perception is without self-nature, discriminating thoughts and consciousness do not scatter outwards, and agitation ceases within itself. Thus. Because of not recognizing one's own nature, it is obscured, and all kinds of errors are caused by the karma of ignorance in the six realms, and appear due to conceptual imputation as a condition. Thus, as it is said in the *Essence of the Supreme Bindu Tantra*: From the single mind of essence, just as a colored rope is mistaken for a snake, co-emergent ignorance is the cause, and conceptual ignorance is the condition, laziness and idleness are practiced in inferiority, and the five poisons of attachment and aversion are enjoyed without ceasing, hell beings see the iron-burning ground, hungry ghosts see impure appearances, animals see the path upside down, humans see the four elements, asuras see weapons, and gods see the seven precious things. Therefore, this is the order of showing the basis of the formation of both samsara and nirvana. Samaya. Gya Gya Gya. Secondly, the way in which the outer container and inner contents are formed is twofold: pure and impure. In the *Transcending Mind* it says: In the wisdom of self-nature, even though there is the primordial purity that manifests, samsara and nirvana are divided into two: pure and impure. Thus, the way in which the pure nirvanic body and realm are formed is, in the *Essence of Bestowing Liberation Tantra* it says: From the beginning of non-arising and non-ceasing, the light of the primordial protector does not change, self-arisen spontaneously accomplished Buddha, abides as the great source of all, body and wisdom spontaneously accomplished. Thus, just as any image can appear on the surface of a pure mirror, or just as the sun, moon, planets, and stars all spontaneously arise in the pure sky, from the point of the essence that is free from all extremes of elaboration, the light shines and manifests the Dharmakaya, the self-luminous and unobstructed play of the Sambhogakaya, the non-dual, unobstructed compassion, the energy of awareness that pervades all abides as the Nirmanakaya, the Vajrakaya that is free from all causes and conditions, the body of enlightenment in which all obscurations are purified from the beginning in the Dharmadhatu, the essence of self-nature is pure.

In the great bliss, it is primordially emptiness, the wisdom of the Dharmadhatu; its own radiance is unobstructed and clear, the mirror-like wisdom; it transcends all distinctions and extremes, the wisdom of equality; distinctly clear and completely unmixed, self-illuminating is the discriminating wisdom; without effort or striving, naturally accomplished is the accomplishing wisdom; from the essence of the great self-born awareness, all are distinctly clear and manifest without mixing, is Vairochana; the unobstructed quality of self-awareness is Ratnasambhava; endowed with the power of great compassion, it is Amitabha; without obstruction to all knowable limits, it is Amoghasiddhi; the supreme essence of reality, which never changes, is Vajrasattva; free from attachment to appearances such as white, yellow, red, green, and blue, the form and pure lands, etc., appear but are empty of inherent existence, spontaneously self-arising in the great primordially self-perfected manner, hence they are pure body and pure lands. The formation of the outer vessel and inner essence of the impure six realms: In "Klong gsal," it says: From the very wisdom, ignorance is confused; the color of wisdom is the five elements; from the beginning, it is the very power of wisdom; though inseparable, one is confused by ignorance. Thus, if the light of the great spontaneously perfect is not recognized as self-born light, then attachment to objects arises, and one is confused into the outer vessel and inner essence. In "Thal 'gyur," it says: The cause of confusion is ignorance; ignorance is of three kinds; taking self-identity as the root of confusion; the two thoughts born together; transformed into objects by imputation. Thus, first, even in the great clear light within the primordial ground, the sudden latent stain remains as something unexpressed; this is the ignorance of self-identity, the root from which all confusion arises. In "Thal 'gyur," it says: One cause, the root is inseparable; because it is not recognized as one's own nature; this is the beginning of samsara. So it is. Second, the co-emergent ignorance is: when the self-power of the ground's appearance is clear on the ground, the two thoughts arise, thinking, "Did that come from me, or did I come from that?" Thus, the thought of grasping arises. The imputed ignorance is: the light is cut off from the object; the thought of grasping the object and the subject becomes slightly coarser.
