The benefits of making অঞ্জલિ (añjali): In the Sutra Requested by Glorious Subhāṣita, it says: Whoever, towards the Buddhas of the ten directions, joins their palms in añjali, and likewise makes offerings and rejoices in the roots of virtue, also confesses sins, exhorts and prays, that one's accumulation of merit will always occur, filling the sky. That is the fourth point. Having thus generated the mind of enlightenment, the order of its training has three aspects: namely, holding, purifying, and increasing. Abiding in the nature of aspiration and engagement is holding the mind. Striving to abandon what is discordant with it is purifying. Exchanging one's own happiness and the suffering of sentient beings is increasing the mind. Furthermore, when hearing of the benefit of sentient beings and the vast conduct of enlightenment, one should not be lazy, thinking, "How could I be able to do that?" but should exert oneself. As it says in the Bodhicaryāvatāra: "One should not be discouraged, thinking, 'How could I attain enlightenment?' The Tathāgata spoke truthfully, speaking this truth. Bees, flies, gadflies, and likewise whatever worms there are, even they, by generating the power of diligence, attain the unsurpassed enlightenment that is difficult to obtain. If I am born as a human being, able to distinguish benefit and harm, and do not abandon the conduct of enlightenment, how can I not attain enlightenment?" And: "Having mounted the horse of the mind of enlightenment, which dispels all weariness, going from happiness to happiness, who with a mind would turn back in cowardice?" Exchanging self and others: At the time of exhaling, imagine that all of your own happiness and virtue is given to other sentient beings with joy, and by that merit, may that sentient being temporarily attain the happiness of gods and humans, and ultimately attain Buddhahood. At the time of inhaling, take on the suffering of others' negative karma as if changing clothes, and imagine that it ripens on yourself, experiencing many sufferings such as those of the lower realms for their benefit. Thus, from one sentient being to all sentient beings, one should train the mind to become accustomed. In Resting the Mind Itself, it says: "Always with mindfulness and awareness, with vigilance, abandon non-virtue and accomplish the ocean of virtuous Dharma." Therefore, with mindfulness that does not forget the benefits and faults of what should be adopted and abandoned,

Therefore, for one's own three doors of body, speech, and mind, examine how virtue and non-virtue arise, abandon non-virtue, and engage in virtue, which is mindfulness. As stated in the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life": "Those who wish to protect their minds should diligently guard mindfulness and awareness, even at the cost of their lives. I bow with folded hands to those who teach thus." Therefore, feeling ashamed of wrongdoing due to one's own or the Dharma's influence, and guarding against non-virtue for fear of others' slander and criticism, is being conscientious. Fearing the consequences of evil deeds and striving for the virtue of liberation is being careful. It is said that this is the root of all the Buddha's teachings. As stated in the "Letter to a Friend": "Carefulness is the source of nectar, while carelessness is the place of death, as the Buddha has said. Therefore, to increase virtue, always be respectful and careful." Therefore, at all times, examine your own mind and do not let it be controlled by distraction and meaningless things. Even when staying in a solitary place, engage in profound virtues such as meditation, and strive to bring what you have started to completion without interruption from other things. As Chanakya said: "If you do something else before finishing the first thing, neither will succeed, and it will only increase fatigue. If one foot is not firmly planted, lifting the other will cause a fall." Also, as stated in the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way of Life": "Do not abandon the great for the sake of the small; think mostly of the benefit of others." And as stated in the "Definite Analysis of the Three Vows": "The four postures of walking, standing, sitting, and lying down should be pure, as described in the sutras. Whatever you do, make aspirations with words that are in accordance with the Dharma." Therefore, in all activities, do not lose mindfulness and awareness. When walking, keep your gaze at the distance of a yoke. When meeting others, greet them with a smile, saying "Hello" and other pleasant words. When sitting, sit upright in the lotus position and engage in activities of listening, contemplating, and meditating. When sleeping at night, lie on your right side with your head facing north, and sleep without distraction. When waking up, remember the Three Jewels and the mind of enlightenment. If you see evil in a dream, confess it immediately; if you see good, rejoice in it. This is because the appearances of day and night are the same as the habitual tendencies of the mind. The Intermediate Mother Sutra states: By meditating on the perfections during the day,
