Anoint with earth and fumigate with incense. Even if decorated with fragrant flowers, unpleasant odors will inevitably arise. Great King! Just as, even if adorned with fine clothes such as Kashi silk and satin, when lying on the final bed, one will die wearing dirty clothes and depart alone, naked. Great King! Even if delighted by various sensual pleasures, one will eventually abandon all of them and die without having satisfied one's desires. Great King! Just as, even if you are rich with incense, flowers, silk covers, cushions, and various clothes in your home, and lie on a bed with pillows on both sides, you will inevitably be abandoned in a vast cemetery filled with crows, foxes, corpses, and repulsive things, lying motionless on the ground. Great King! Just as, even if you ride on elephants, horses, etc., enjoying the sweet and delightful varieties of music, raising banners and umbrellas, being praised with sweet words by kings, ministers, and friends, and walking in front to be admired, before long, you will die in bed, be carried by four people, with parents, siblings, etc., raising their hands, beating their chests, and overwhelmed by grief, carried out of the city's south gate, and buried underground in a desolate graveyard, or eaten by crows, vultures, foxes, etc., and those bones will either be burned in fire, thrown into water, or buried underground. Even if buried underground, they will be pulverized by wind, sun, and rain, scattered in all directions, and rot. Great King! All conditioned phenomena are impermanent, all are unstable. Thus it is said, that this very body that one cherishes, when the time of death arrives, can only lie on one final bed, wear one final garment, eat one final meal, and speak one final word. Loving relatives and friends surround one with affection, medicine and rituals cannot deceive, and hope is lost. The suffering of death and the intense pain of illness arise, and one becomes helpless. The flow of inner and outer breath ceases, and one experiences the visions of the bardo and the suffering of the next life.

will experience. The corpse is buried underground, or cremated, or thrown into the water, or eaten by birds, dogs, and wild animals, etc., the bones are scattered everywhere, and exposed to rain, wind, sun, and cold, becoming loose. An empty name is the body. Possessions, etc., are used by others, and not even a hair can be taken away, and even one's own body must be left behind. There is no place to escape death. As the scriptures say: Wherever you go, you cannot escape death, there is no such place anywhere. It is not in the sky, nor in the depths of the ocean, nor even in the caves of all the mountains. Furthermore, the lords of beings, Brahma, the Great Lord, Vishnu, Indra, and the Four Great Kings, etc., who possess merit, wealth, glory, and great radiance, and rule the three worlds of the underground, the surface, and the upper ground, etc., also have times of death. Brahma and Indra, fierce and with a thousand eyes, even if they have cut off desire, will still impermanently go to the next life. The sun and moon can only enjoy a moment of light, look at this vast earth and the world of the four continents! Also, gods and non-humans who have attained meditation, as well as gods, immortals, ascetics, and radiant ones, even if they dwell for a long time in kalpas, are impermanent. People, this helpless body, as fragile as a bubble, will each decay and separate, what more needs to be said! The Chakravartin who is the lord of the four continents, as well as other kings, queens, ministers, monks, Brahmins, and householders, etc., are also impermanent. In the Chapter on Specific Topics, it says: The king who possesses the seven treasures, as well as other minor kings and ministers, monks, Brahmins, and householders, etc., all these beings are impermanent, just like experiences in a dream. Furthermore, these container and content worlds are also shown to be impermanent. The Samadhiraja Sutra says: When this world is destroyed, all worlds become empty. Just as before, so it will be afterwards. Know that all dharmas are like this. Rest says: The container and content are impermanent, sentient beings experience formation, abiding, decay, and emptiness, seven fires
