From the Glorious Hidden Sutra, it is said: Regarding this Glorious Hidden, one hears through much hearing, contemplates its meaning, practices yoga through meditation free from afflictions, and also encourages other beings to do so. Then, in the world with gods and others, because it is most beautiful, it makes leisure meaningful, and this is called 'meaningful leisure.' It is called 'precious leisure.' So it is said. In particular, leisure that has become an unsurpassed vessel is, according to the Sutra of the Precious Sky Treasury, when Bodhisattva Sky Treasury asked: Blessed One, how should one view leisure? The Buddha replied: The mind being disturbed and scattered by discriminating thoughts is called busyness. The mind being pacified from discriminating thoughts and abiding in its own nature is called leisure. Possession is knowing the nature of the mind, and because it accords with the meaning of correct wisdom, it is called possession. So it is said. Other than a human body, even if born as a god, it cannot become a basis for practicing pure Dharma, because the basis upon which the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, attained enlightenment was also the chief of humans in Jambudvipa. In the Sutra of Manifest Enlightenment, it is said: One cannot manifest enlightenment in the realm of the gods because one becomes arrogant about one's status, and therefore one cannot manifest the truth. Seeing that only humans can perfectly possess leisure and endowment, he went to the place of Serkya. And in the Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life, it says: With a body superior to the gods. And the teacher Chandragomin said: Having prepared to guide beings by relying on the path of the Sugatas, whatever great power of mind is obtained by humans, that path is not obtained by gods and nagas, nor by asuras, nor by garudas, nor by kimnaras, nor by mahoragas, nor by pisachas. And in the Resting Place, it says: Non-discriminating, seeing the truth, is wisdom. Among gods and humans, it is easy to be born as a human and obtain it. The profound essence of the Vajrayana path is also easy to obtain and accomplish the result with a human body. Therefore, the basis of all Dharma, great and small vehicles, is said to be the supreme human body of leisure and endowment. And in the Tantra of the Exhaustion of the Four Elements, it says: This wonderful king of secret mantras, if people diligently practice it, they will accomplish it in this very life. What need is there to mention yoga siddhi? Thus, leisure is praised as the basis of all vehicles. The mind of the six realms of beings

More than that, the beings of hell, hungry ghosts, and animals, the three lower realms, are inconceivable. Among them, if we consider the animals that we see with our eyes, the visible animals, when there are many sentient beings in the summer, the entire earth, mountains, rivers, and even the area of our own sitting cushion, there are countless tiny creatures. If we estimate the number of these, the beings of gods and humans are only a few. Moreover, obtaining a human body is as rare as it gets. Even among humans, if we think of those who have no Dharma and always engage in evil, then those who have faith in the Dharma and hear the Dharma are very few. Moreover, those who sincerely practice the Dharma are as rare as it gets. Therefore, now we have obtained leisure. If we do not strive for the sacred Dharma in this situation where we are not controlled by others, then it will be very difficult to obtain such leisure in the future. This is more regrettable than going to a treasure island and not taking the desired treasure, returning empty-handed. Therefore, apart from the sacred Dharma, all the activities of this life are meaningless, so we should always think about it again and again. Second, thinking about the impermanence of life and the nature of death is presented in brief and explained in detail. The first is: The scripture says: When at some time, due to the result of past karma, or the combination of bad sudden events, the impermanence of death appears in oneself, it cannot be stopped by any means or power, and one can only go to the next life. After thinking and analyzing in the heart, one should apply one's whole life to the method of spending it with the Dharma. The second is the detailed explanation. In the Great Perfection Mind Resting in Ease it says: Although such a rare leisure is obtained, momentary impermanence is a fearful thing. If examined, there is no essence, like a bubble, difficult to trust. Day and night, constantly think of death. Therefore, even if leisure is obtained, the momentary impermanence is untrustworthy. In the Compendium of Special Statements it says: Alas! All conditioned things are impermanent, their nature is to arise and perish. Having arisen, it is delightful to perish, therefore, extinction is the most peaceful. Like a star, illusion, lamp, dew
