In short, having the power of virtuous deeds from previous habits is to possess the four conditions of leisure and endowment. Therefore, we are free from the suffering of the lower realms, possess a special human body or a precious human body as a basis, have all five senses complete, are in a central region illuminated by the Dharma where the Dharma flourishes, have entered the Buddha's teachings, have met a virtuous spiritual friend who teaches the Dharma, and have the autonomy to practice the Dharma. At a time like this when we know how to practice, we must repeatedly contemplate how difficult it is to obtain this leisure and endowment. The reason for this is that it is difficult to obtain, as illustrated by an example: In the chapter on impermanence, it says: It is difficult for the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, to appear in the world, and it is also very difficult to achieve human form and perfect leisure. Therefore, an example should be given: Shariputra, for example, this great earth becomes an ocean, and in it there is a single-holed yoke, and there is also a blind turtle. In that great ocean, winds rise up and down, and that blind turtle emerges once every hundred years. It is said that the blind turtle's neck entering that single-holed yoke is very fast, but it is not like that to become a human again from a fallen state. Therefore, it is very difficult for those who have fallen to become human. As it says in the Letter to a Friend: 'The yoke hole in the ocean, the blind turtle meeting is more difficult than from animals, human form is even more difficult to obtain, O king, therefore practice the true Dharma for its fruit.' And, the teacher Shantideva said in the Bodhisattvacaryāvatāra: 'Therefore, the Bhagavan said that it is extremely difficult to obtain, like a blind turtle in the ocean, its neck entering a yoke hole.' And, in the Sutra Requested by Jewel Crown: 'It is very difficult to see a guide, it is also very difficult to hear the Dharma of peace spoken, it is also very difficult to obtain leisure and a human birth, and it is also very difficult to always keep the precepts.' And, Dharma Lord Omniscient Great Eloquent One, Discipline Wisdom, said: 'A yoke hole floating in the sea, a blind turtle's neck entering may occur.'

To be liberated from the evil paths. Obtaining a human body is as difficult as a pea sticking to a wall where both sides are plastered. Even if one obtains a human body, it is rare to be born in the central lands. It is as difficult as the appearance of an udumbara flower in the world. Therefore, entering the Dharma and encountering the right path is difficult. It is even more difficult than threading a needle through silk. Even if one finds the path, practicing it properly is difficult. It is even more difficult than finding a wish-fulfilling jewel from an ocean island. Therefore, finding a true lama is even more difficult. Thinking about these, strive to practice! Thus it is said. Although we speak of a human body, there are many distinctions. In the Great Perfection Mind at Rest by Kunkhyen Longchen Rabjam, it says: Thus, merely obtaining a human body is just the beginning, there is also the special human body and the precious human body. In order, not knowing good and evil, engaging in non-Dharmic activities. Even with complete faculties, it is an ordinary human body. Even if born in the central lands, they are barbarian borderlanders. Thus it is said. In the Sutra of the Precious Sky, it says: In the realm of sentient beings, those who have not entered this Dharma, or even if they have entered, engage in a mixture of good and evil, indulging in noise and distraction, whose body, speech, and mind are undisciplined and frivolous, falling into the three evil paths, those with the karma to incline towards the lower realms, are also seen by the light of the sun of the Buddha's compassion, and after a long time, possess the seed of liberation. Therefore, it is called a special human body. Thus it is said. Just a human body. In "Rest," it says: Not entering the Dharma, mixing good and evil. Pursuing this life, distracted by noise. Undisciplined and frivolous, putting the next life far behind. Not seeking liberation, even if they hear the Dharma. It is not a supreme body, but a middling nature. Sometimes slightly inclined towards good, but mostly, the eye of the mind is obscured by sin. Just holding on temporarily, what benefit is there for oneself and others? These people, whether householders or wearing the form of monks. Because they are slightly superior to the evil realms. Therefore, it is called a special human body, thus the Victorious Ones say. Thus it is said. Thus, being more special than the former, and more superior than that is. In the Intermediate Mother, it says: Enricher, those Bodhisattvas who themselves engage in virtue and also encourage others to do so, this is making the essence of leisure and endowment. Praised by all the Buddhas. Praised. Offered. Thus it is said.
