Above that, the lifespan of the Reviving Hell is that one must experience suffering for four great kalpas and one million kalpas, sixty thousand kalpas, and four thousand kalpas. The suffering is that from the nature of the sky, a severe disease and the ripening of evil karma combine, descending upon the beings born in that hell realm, and these two afflictions are inflicted without hindrance, and as the great sound of "May all die!" resounds in all directions, one dies in that instant amidst unbearable suffering and the feeling of having to sever life. Then, the wind of evil karma makes a sound, and when the sound of "May all revive!" arises, the corpses that had died before revive as before. Thus, one must experience the suffering of dying and reviving again and again. These eight are the eight great hot hells that burn and destroy with heat. Like that, after the lifespan and suffering of those hells are exhausted, it becomes a place to purify all the remaining ripening of evil karma, and in all directions and corners of all those hells, there are fire pits and boiling ash water, and a great swamp of rotting corpses, and a road of sharp blades, and immeasurable rivers, iron thorn mountains, and a forest of sword leaves, and like this, the remaining eight are located one each in the four directions, and the lifespan also requires experiencing suffering for three million kalpas and three hundred thirty-three million and two thousand kalpas. The extent of suffering is that one must walk involuntarily in the fire pit, with flesh dripping and blood flowing, and in the boiling ash water, flesh and bones are cooked white and float about, and in the great swamp of rotting corpses, maggots buzz up to the throat.
