When the Bhagavan Tathagata Medicine Guru Bhaisajyaguruvaidurya Prabhasa was practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva in the past, he made these twelve great aspirations. What are the twelve? His first great aspiration is: When I attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi and become a Buddha in the future, may the light of my body illuminate countless and immeasurable realms of the world, becoming bright, radiant, and luminous. May all sentient beings be adorned with the thirty-two marks of a great man and the eighty minor marks, and may all sentient beings become like me. This is the aspiration he made. His second great aspiration is: When I attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi and become a Buddha in the future, when I attain Bodhi, may my body be like a Vaidurya gem, extremely pure inside and out, immaculate and radiant, with vast and extensive limbs, blazing with glory and splendor, abiding in goodness, and adorned with a network of light rays surpassing the sun and moon. Therefore, those sentient beings who are born in the realms of the gods, and those who wander in different directions in the dark night in this human world, may they walk happily in all directions by my light, and may they also engage in various activities. This is the aspiration he made. His third great aspiration is: When I attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi and become a Buddha in the future, when I attain Bodhi, with my immeasurable wisdom and skillful means, may all sentient beings in countless and immeasurable realms possess inexhaustible enjoyment, and may no one ever be in need. His fourth great aspiration is: When I attain Anuttara-samyak-sambodhi and become a Buddha in the future, when I attain Bodhi, those sentient beings who have entered the wrong path, I shall establish them on the path of Bodhi. The fifth great aspiration is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, when I attain enlightenment, may all sentient beings who practice pure conduct in my presence, and likewise countless and immeasurable other sentient beings, upon hearing my name, through my power, be bound by the three vows and may their discipline be without violation. May no one violate discipline or go astray and fall into evil destinies. Thus, he vowed. The sixth great aspiration is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, when I attain enlightenment, may all sentient beings who have bad bodies, incomplete faculties, ugly appearances, are dull, have defective limbs, are hunchbacked, have vitiligo, are blind, deaf, mute, or have become insane, and also those who are afflicted with diseases in their bodies, upon hearing my name, have complete faculties and perfect limbs. Thus, he vowed. The seventh great aspiration is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, when I attain enlightenment, may all sentient beings who are tormented by various diseases, are without refuge, without protection, without food and medicine, without relatives, are poor, and suffering, upon hearing my name, may all of them be completely pacified. Until the ultimate end of enlightenment, may they remain without disease and without harm. Thus, he vowed. The eighth great aspiration is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, when I attain enlightenment, may all women who are afflicted by the eight faults of women, despise the female form, and desire to be completely liberated from the female state, may they be completely turned away from the female form. 愿成为生于其中的有权者。如是祈愿。其第九大愿为：当我在未来证得无上圆满正等觉时，愿我获得菩提之时，一切众生皆能从魔的罗网中彻底解脱。对于那些因见解各异而争论不休的人，我将使他们安住于正确的见解之中。我将使他们依止于菩萨的究竟菩提行。如是祈愿。其第十大愿为：当我在未来证得无上圆满正等觉时，愿我获得菩提之时，那些因国王的恐惧而害怕的众生，以及被束缚、鞭打、囚禁、应被杀害、被各种事物折磨、无依无靠、身语意遭受痛苦威胁的众生，都能凭借我的福德力，从一切损害中彻底解脱。如是祈愿。其第十一大愿为：当我在未来证得无上圆满正等觉时，愿我获得菩提之时，那些被饥渴之火燃烧、竭力寻找食物、造作罪业的众生，我将以色、香、味俱全的食物使他们的身体得到满足，之后再以佛法的滋味使他们安住于极乐之中。如是祈愿。彼如来之第十二大愿为：当我在未来证得无上圆满正等觉时，愿我获得菩提之时，那些赤身裸体、无衣蔽体、贫穷、受苦、遭受寒冷、炎热、蚊蝇叮咬，日夜感受痛苦的众生，我将施予适合他们使用的衣服，以及染成各种颜色的布匹。随其所愿，以各种珍宝饰品、装饰品、花环、香、涂香、音乐、铙钹、手鼓等满足众生的心愿。

May I become the powerful one born therein. Thus he prayed. The ninth great aspiration of that one is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment in the future, at the time when I attain enlightenment, may all sentient beings be completely liberated from the snares of the demons. Those who are discordant due to differing views, I shall establish them in the correct view. I shall cause them to rely on the conduct of the ultimate Bodhisattva. Thus he prayed. The tenth great aspiration of that one is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment in the future, at the time when I attain enlightenment, may those sentient beings who are frightened by the fear of kings, and those who are bound, beaten, imprisoned, deserving to be killed, tormented by various things, without refuge, threatened by suffering of body, speech, and mind, be completely liberated from all harm by the power of my merit. Thus he prayed. The eleventh great aspiration of that one is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment in the future, at the time when I attain enlightenment, those sentient beings who are burning with the fire of hunger and thirst, striving to find food, committing sinful deeds, I shall satisfy their bodies with food that has color, smell, and taste, and afterwards, I shall cause them to abide in extreme bliss with the taste of the Dharma. Thus he prayed. The twelfth great aspiration of that Thus-Gone-One is: When I attain the unexcelled, perfect, complete enlightenment in the future, at the time when I attain enlightenment, those sentient beings who are naked, without clothing, poor, suffering, experiencing cold, heat, and the suffering of being bitten by mosquitoes and flies day and night, I shall give them clothes that are suitable for them to use, and cloths dyed in various colors. As they desire, with various precious ornaments, decorations, garlands, incense, unguents, music, cymbals, and hand drums, may I fulfill the wishes of sentient beings.
