May the sound of the Dharma cloud ocean arise. May those who hear that Dharma sound exhaust their past karma, and until ultimate enlightenment, may they never be separated from cherishing the mind of enlightenment. Thus he prayed. The third great aspiration of that one is: When I, in the future, manifest complete perfect enlightenment and become a Buddha, if there are sentient beings who experience suffering due to being without and lacking clothes, ornaments, incense, garlands, unguents, bedding, and medicine for the sick, and who commit sins, may those sentient beings, through my power, have clothes, ornaments, incense, garlands, unguents, bedding, medicine for the sick, and all uses and resources appear immediately upon being thought of, and may all who lack be without lack. Until ultimate enlightenment, may no one lack anything whatsoever. Thus he prayed. The fourth great aspiration of that one is: When I, in the future, manifest complete perfect enlightenment and become a Buddha, if there are sentient beings who, due to the ripening of past karma, engage in fighting, arguing, and quarreling with each other, harming each other, or preparing to kill, striking each other with weapons, arrows, and clubs, then whoever at that time remembers my name, through my power, upon remembering it in their mind, may the arrows, weapons, clubs, and so forth return, may they turn back in direction, may all enemies abide in loving-kindness, and may no being lose their life force. Until ultimate enlightenment, may each be content with their own possessions, enjoyments, and power. Thus he prayed. Manjushri, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha Dharmakirti Sagaraghosa, when he formerly practiced the conduct of a Bodhisattva, made these four great aspirations. Manjushri, if anyone hears, holds, and offers with great reverence the name of the Blessed One, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha Dharmakirti Sagaraghosa

When all his sins are completely purified, and he becomes irreversible from the enlightenment of the Buddha, he will remember his past lives in all generations. He will never be separated from the mind of enlightenment. In all rebirths, he will meet the Thus-Gone One. He will always be healthy and long-lived. After dying from here, he will be born in that world. Furthermore, he will not go to wrong paths. Wherever he is born, he will immediately have clothes, ornaments, incense, garlands, utensils, enjoyments, and power. Manjushri, the Bhagavan, the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha, whoever holds or listens to the name of Dharma Fame Ocean Sound, will have so many qualities. Manjushri, to the east, past as many Buddha fields as the sands of nine Ganges rivers from this Buddha field, there is a world called Jewel Ocean, well established. There, the Bhagavan, the Thus-Gone One, the Arhat, the Perfectly Complete Buddha, named Dharma Ocean Supreme Wisdom Play of Manifest Knowledge, dwells, lives, and teaches the Dharma. Manjushri, when that Bhagavan previously practiced the conduct of a Bodhisattva, he made four great aspirations. What are the four? His first great aspiration was: When I attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, when I attain enlightenment, may all sentient beings, those who are busy with farming, sowing seeds, doing business, fighting, and quarreling, and doing evil deeds, upon hearing my name, through my power, immediately be endowed with all necessities of life, be without malice, and always practice virtuous Dharma. This is what he aspired. His second great aspiration was: When I attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, when I attain enlightenment, may those sentient beings who have chosen the path of non-virtuous deeds, and having chosen it, have become hell-beings,

Having heard the name, may I, through my power, be endowed with the path of the ten virtuous actions. May no sentient being ever go to the hells. Thus he prayed. The third great aspiration is this: When I attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment in the future, at the time when I attain enlightenment, however many sentient beings are under the control of others, subjected to being cut, beaten, imprisoned, or deserving of being killed, when they hear my name, may my light, until the ultimate enlightenment, cause those bonds and beatings to be forever severed. Thus he prayed. When he practiced the conduct of a Bodhisattva, the fourth great aspiration is this: When I attain the unsurpassed, perfectly complete enlightenment in the future, at the time when I attain enlightenment, any sentient beings who, due to short lifespans, have committed various sins and non-virtuous deeds and die, at the time of their death, may they hear my name. May they, having heard my name, be reborn in the happy realms and heavens. Until the ultimate enlightenment, may they experience the bliss of gods and humans. May all sinful actions be completely purified. Thus he prayed. Manjushri! That Bhagavan Tathagata Arhat Samyak-sambuddha, the one who plays with the ocean of Dharma, the supreme wisdom, the all-knowing one, in the past, when practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva, made these four great aspirations. Manjushri! The qualities of the Buddha-field of that one who dwells well in the world of the ocean of jewels are like those of one who dwells in a world of jewels. Manjushri! Furthermore, any son or daughter of good family who hears the names of those seven perfectly complete Buddhas, and having heard them, holds them, rises early and remembers them, generates faith, and makes offerings with flowers, incense, perfumes, garlands, ointments, the sound of music, cymbals, and drums, and writes them on scrolls and holds them, and writes this Dharma teaching into letters.
