A scroll written by me, the translator, according to the instructions of Guru Rinpoche. Homage to the Seven Tathagatas, the Bhagavat. To briefly relate the history of this Dharma: When we, the early and later ordained ones of Tibet, were practicing the worship of the Seven Tathagatas like the precious Khenpo, I, the protector of the Naga King, along with my two friends Namnying and Vairo, in order to prevent this sacred Dharma from being completely destroyed, and because it was said that the king would manifest with the name of an animal, causing the rise and fall of the teachings, we sought a means of imperishability. We buried the prayer sutras and offering rituals of the Seven Tathagatas in a place of practice, and made prayers and vows. My friend Vairo said: That is excellent, it is also appropriate to consult the great teacher. Thus, we offered a golden mandala to the great teacher. The teacher said: On the tenth day of the monkey month, do not reverse the interdependent connections. At that time, on the auspicious seat of Chimphu (Mchims phu), the great teacher's seat and offerings were arranged. When the king, his son, the Khenpo, ministers, and faithful devotees were seated, the great teacher said: Remembering the true aspirations of the Seven Tathagatas from the past, you should prostrate towards the east, and also generate love for sentient beings. I too shall truly invoke the aspirations of the Seven Tathagatas. Having spoken, the teacher entered into samadhi. The Khenpo, the Dharma King, his son, and we acted according to his instructions. In that instant, like a rainbow from the expanse of the sky, the Seven Tathagatas of liberation and refuge appeared, along with Manjushri, Vajrapani, and many other Bodhisattva retinues, and we saw and met them directly. Each of us removed our body ornaments and scattered them in all directions, and made many prayers of confession of sins and purification of obscurations. In particular, the Khenpo chanted many elegies of remembrance of the Buddha and definite emergence. Each of our faces was also covered with tears, and as we prayed with heartfelt longing, the great teacher" } ] ============================================================

With his right hand in the gesture of threatening mudra pointing towards the sky, he uttered "Āḥ Āḥ Pheṃ Pheṃ," and all the retinue dissolved into the main deity. The main deity transformed into a blue light and dissolved into the crown of the head of the Great Teacher. Then, Abbot Śāntarakṣita said to the Great Teacher: "Great Teacher, I have studied the Dharma since I was young, and in particular, I have practiced the offering ritual to the Seven Tathāgatas according to the sutras. However, I have never seen the face of the Buddha directly until today. Today, I have seen the Tathāgatas with their retinue, and I feel that it is due to the kindness of you, the Precious Teacher. Now, if I pass away from this life without any interruption and am reborn in the realm of the King of Medicine, I have made the aspiration to be born there. May it be accomplished through the power of you, the compassionate Teacher." After he said this, the Great Teacher said: "Bodhisattva, you are a Bodhisattva who takes birth for the sake of the teachings and beings, so do not only aspire to a pure realm. Do not fear the realms of suffering, but aspire to benefit the six types of beings throughout the expanse of the sky, and especially for the benefit of the Tibetan people, who are the field of taming for both of us. Now, may all the aspirations you have made be fulfilled, and when you are born in the realm of lapis lazuli light, may you continuously care for the rulers and subjects of Tibet, knowing them well." Then, I, Khonpa Ludwang, offered a mandala of various precious substances and said: "O Precious Teacher, we Tibetan monks, and especially since I received the permission of the Great Abbot, have been practicing the offering ritual to the Seven Tathāgatas until today, but even a pure vision in a dream has been difficult to achieve. Today, through the compassion of Guru Rinpoche, I have miraculously seen the Tathāgatas with their retinue. Since the deities I saw dissolved into you, the Great Teacher, you are no different from our teacher Śākyamuni, as stated in many sutras such as the Mahāparinirvāṇa Sūtra, and the meaning is the same, so I rejoice. In the past, during the time of the Bhagavan, all the Tathāgatas and their bodhisattva retinue were seen directly, which was due to the power of the Buddha, and today, all that I have seen is due to your power, so I rejoice, may you always in the three times
