The great Bodhisattva Earth Brave and Mount Sumeru Pile, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Sound of Sangsangpo, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Crown-Holding King, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Vajrapani. Thus, thirty-six thousand Bodhisattva Mahasattvas were all dwelling together. Gods, Nagas, Yakshas, Gandharvas, Asuras, Garudas, Kinnaras, Mahoragas, kings, ministers, Brahmins, Kshatriyas, and all householders were completely surrounding and gazing ahead. Initially virtuous, in the middle virtuous, and ultimately virtuous. Teaching the Dharma with good meaning and beautiful words, satisfying all sentient beings with the words of the Dharma, and establishing them in the Bodhi of the Buddha. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Dharma Prince Manjushri rose from his seat, bared one shoulder of his upper garment, knelt on his right knee, and bowed with folded palms towards where the Bhagavan was. He said to the Bhagavan: Bhagavan, gods, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, garudas, kinnaras, mahoragas, shramanas, brahmins, kings, ministers, humans and non-humans, and many others have gathered to listen to the Dharma. For their sake, Bhagavan, please listen with compassion. How can all sentient beings become irreversible from the unexcelled, perfectly complete enlightenment, and all sins and karmic obscurations be completely purified and exhausted, and not be disturbed by the evil Mara? Please explain the names of those Tathagatas, the extensive distinctions of past aspirations, and the qualities and arrangements of the Buddha's fields. Bhagavan, the Tathagatas have nothing unseen, unheard, or unknown. Even hundreds of thousands of billions of nayutas of kalpas, as numerous as the fine dust particles in the sands of the Ganges, are as clear as today or tomorrow. Those Tathagatas, the initial Bodhi

With mindfulness, past aspirations, and the qualities of Buddha-fields dedicated to the Tathagata, if one practices in accordance with the teachings, then, Lord, in the future, in the last of the five hundred years, the sacred Dharma will be altered. For the sake of benefiting sentient beings, please, Tathagatas, speak of many skillful means and the particularly vast past aspirations. Then, the Blessed One, the Tathagata, with the voice and tone of a Kalavinka bird, gave the word 'Good, good' to Manjushri, who had become a youth. Manjushri, good, good! Manjushri, you are endowed with compassion. Manjushri, you have generated immeasurable compassion for the sake of all sentient beings, and it is good that you make supplications for the sake of the benefit, welfare, and happiness of gods and humans who are obscured by various obscurations of sentient beings, afflicted by various diseases, and tormented by various sorrows and sufferings. Manjushri, this eloquence of yours has arisen from the blessings of the Tathagata. Manjushri, therefore, listen well and keep it in mind, and I will speak. Manjushri, who had become a youth, said to the Blessed One, 'So it is,' and listened to the Blessed One. The Blessed One spoke to him thus: Manjushri, to the east, beyond Buddha-fields as numerous as the sands of the Ganges River from this Buddha-field, there is another world called Invincible. There resides the Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Awakened Buddha, named 'King of Good Renown Widely Proclaimed Glory,' attended by hundreds of thousands of millions of Bodhisattvas kneeling. He dwells there, living and teaching the Dharma. Manjushri, that Buddha-field of the Tathagata 'King of Good Renown Widely Proclaimed Glory' is exceedingly pure, vast in all directions, with hundreds of thousands of millions of yojanas, as level as the palm of a hand. There are no lower realms or enemies of suffering, no female forms, no thorns, cliffs, mountains, rocks, gravel, or pebbles. The touch is soft and pleasant, filled with the fragrance of the gods.

I am endowed with divine jewel trees, adorned with flowers and fruits, a jewel lion throne well-decorated, a pure and irreversible place for Bodhisattvas, beautified by ponds adorned with Jambu River gold and pearls. Manjushri, all the Bodhisattvas who reside in that world are born miraculously, entirely from seven-jeweled lotuses. Therefore, sons or daughters of good families, with faith, may you obtain the aspiration to be born in that Buddha-field. Manjushri, that Tathagata, the King of Auspicious Fame Widely Proclaimed, from the moment he first generated the mind of enlightenment, while practicing the conduct of a Bodhisattva, continuously made eight great vows. What are the eight? His first great vow is: When I attain complete enlightenment in the future, any sentient beings who are afflicted by various diseases, tormented by plagues, executioners, curses, zombies, and fears, may all of these, through my power, remember my name, and by reciting my name seven times, may all their diseases be completely pacified. Until the ultimate enlightenment, may plagues and evil spirits disappear, may they be completely pacified. Thus he vowed. His second great vow is: When I attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, any sentient beings who are blind, deaf, insane, afflicted with vitiligo, and tormented by severe diseases, may all of these, through my power, remember my name, and by reciting my name seven times, may those, until the ultimate enlightenment, have all their senses fully complete, may all suffering and diseases be completely cut off. Thus he vowed. His third great vow is: When I attain unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment in the future, any sentient beings who are obscured by desire, hatred, and ignorance, commit the five heinous crimes, engage in many improper actions, abandon the sacred Dharma.
