From the state of non-existence, Clinging to non-existence as existence, one grasps. In emptiness, the wheel of delusion turns, From that time until now, wandering in samsara. Now, in the Shakya's teachings, The Vajrayana is flourishing, Having obtained the leisure and fortune of a human body, Meeting the guide, the spiritual friend, Hearing the profound instructions, Know that all these arise from the power Of merit accumulated over many lifetimes. The bindus of the Tögal path, And the subtle bindus standing upright like fish eyes, Rainbow-colored like bubbles, And seeing shapes like vajras, The radiance of the five lights in dark yoga, Appearing without day or night, Like building a dam to hold back the ocean, The white color with a purplish shape, Rays of light like sunbeams, And stars emanating from them, All the many appearances that arise, Are the manifest appearances of the Dharmata. But there is not much real grasping of their meaning, They are just temporary experiential appearances. Still impermanent and subject to change, The experiential appearances gradually increase, Awareness reaches a certain level, large and small, Then the exhaustion of Dharmata, and so on, Until final accomplishment, in practice, Strive like a scribe with pen and ink. The main thing is the view of Trekchö. The dark retreat of Tögal is the stage of the path, Whatever good or bad appearances arise, Do not cling to them. Meditate in the state of indivisible clarity and emptiness. Come here and listen, I have something to say. Nowadays, they are called "Auntie Khra Leb," Even if they seem good on the surface, What can be relied upon after a hundred years? Then, when the time of impermanence and change comes, The happiness, comfort, and wealth of this life, Whether it is the wealth of Vaishravana, Or the power of Indra and Brahma, Are like appearances in a dream, Together with the body that is cherished and cared for, Are abandoned like a dog carcass. Consciousness, like a feather carried by the wind, Wanders aimlessly on an unfamiliar path. The path of the bardo is so narrow and dangerous, The executioners of Yama have fierce faces, The suffering of the lower realms is so great. At that time, do not have regrets! Today, start striving from this body! Live in a secluded mountain, Rely on alms for food and clothing, Internally, always wake up early, In the evening, always go to bed late. Strive in the generation and completion stages, oral instructions, and recitations. Especially the Guru Yoga of Dzogchen, And the meditation practice of Great Compassion, And the preliminary practice of the seven limbs, Water offerings, and so on.

This was said to Trale Womo Metok Dron. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo mahāgurubhyaḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to the Great Guru). Earlier enlightened than all Buddhas, Possessing the nine lineages of Kuntuzangpo, To the kind root guru, I take refuge with unwavering devotion. Appearance is the nature of mind, Mind is the dharmata of emptiness, Recognition is the special characteristic of Dzogchen. Realizing the inseparability of appearance and mind, Thoughts are rootless, uprooted, Seeing samsara and nirvana as illusions, Meditation and non-meditation are equal, Non-dual, free from acceptance and rejection, Without meditation, without distraction, Whatever appears arises as meditation, Outer and inner are mixed without separation, Essence is like cloudless sky, Primordially pure, The self-radiance of emptiness is self-illuminating, Without clarity or obscurity, of one taste, All-pervading, expansive, vast space. This is the view and practice of the Great Perfection. The heart essence of the eighteen tantras, Of the hundred and eight instructions, It is the crucial point of showing recognition. It is the intention of the Eight Heart Drops. The nature of doubt is pure from the beginning, Abandoning and adopting are perfected in the realm of awareness. Possessing the four assurances of the upper and lower. Son, you are a son of good fortune and lineage. Tögal, the valley of clear light is blocked, Sheep intestines, thigle mirror, Lotus stupa mandala, Thigle half-body, single body, The self-body is invisible, the experience of appearance, Outer space, inner space, all mixed together. Awareness reaches the place of perfection. Furthermore, at the place where dharmata is exhausted, At the place where signs, measures, and letters are abandoned, Spread the teachings in the ultimate treasury. To those who have karma and fortune, Skillfully teach this essence. By the previous aspiration to benefit beings, It is good in the direction where the sun rises. This was said to Kadak Thongdrol. Sanskrit Romanization: Namo guru ratna bhyaḥ, Literal Chinese Meaning: Homage to the Guru Jewel). Inseparable from the yidam deity, To the kind root guru, I pray, please bless me. Please lend an ear, good deity. Initially, without basis, without bias, When the names of samsara and nirvana do not exist, It abides in the state of primordial emptiness. From the self-radiance of that emptiness, When white, yellow, red, green, and blue lights arise, What is the cause and condition of this? From pursuing the habit of thoughts, The basis of delusion arises, the ignorant mind arises. The wheel
