Those wanderers, various experiential appearances, using mind to think and discern, like the example of fire and smoke, in the appearance of observing and discerning, it is said that those first arise. When not observed and discerned, even if such arises, there is no seeing of meaning. Actually, it is the appearance of experience. After that, the meaning of practicing experience, appearances are the wondrous transformations of mind, like the moon in water, the image in a mirror, appearance-grasping, emptiness-grasping, and simultaneously grasping, from the bondage of desiring grasping, liberation, the view is the unseeable view, realization, meditation is the unmeditative natural abiding, the fruit is the unaccomplished self-arisen awareness, behavior is the unmade and unattached, possessing meaning, son of the lineage. Truly seeing, fortunate one. The essence of the nature of reality, originally liberated, so there is no need to repeat, completely liberated, so effort ceases, self-liberated, so it disappears in seeing, nakedly liberated, so it transcends mind, unspeakable, free from elaboration, is as it is, possessing meaning. Meaning is excellent, experience that meaning. When the time of death arrives, blending your mind with the guru's mind, abiding in the unfabricated state, this is the instruction of true meaning. There is nothing better than that. Alas! Appearance of existence in non-existence, the appearance of samsara and nirvana is truly wondrous. Like the cause manifested by illusion, like the confused appearance in a dream, like the city of gandharvas, for birth, dwelling, and destruction, the six kinds of sentient beings who grasp with attachment and clinging, are truly pitiable. We are without regret, we must do it today. Seize the fortress of liberation. Like the deer king Ruru, do not lose the solitary dwelling mountain forest. Like the livelihood of birds, only eat what is needed, abandon hoarding. Like the close diligent shepherd, know and seek the edge. As the years, months, days, and times pass, because death is near, strive in the Dharma. Thus it was said to the powerful one. Namo Guru Buddhaya. The nature of the three kayas of the Buddha, I prostrate to the feet of Guru Padmasambhava. First, among the three, body, speech, and mind, when discerning which is the main one, recognizing that mind-nature is the main one, to recognize it as such is best. Then, when discerning the five senses, eight consciousnesses, and the differences of mind, seeing that the main one arises from mind, that is also like seeing it as it is. The mind's

When looking at one's own mind, When abiding in the state of self-abiding, When bewildered and dazed for a long time, From the self-luminous essence of the ground of all, It seems that calm abiding arises. All beings in the three realms of existence, Are also the play of the one mind essence, Understanding this is also the same. Then, like the posture of a lion lying down, When relaxing and abiding, Past, future, and present, When not defiled by conceptual thoughts, Knowing the essence of the mind essence of true meaning, Like saying it is like the sky, Is the self-luminous essence of the self-born mind. Now, if from that very nature, At all times and in all ways, If sinking, then hold onto the self-knowing awareness, Look at your own face and protect your own place. If agitated, then nakedly reveal self-awareness, Sometimes tighten, sometimes loosen, alternately protect. If dull, then place the way of looking in the sky, Do not modify, protect the original luminosity. The three poisons, the five poisons, and the five senses, And the six consciousnesses, etc., of self-liberation, Mix all actions with them and practice. The wrathful lion and the three giants, Occasionally a little bit of action, Transform with antidotes and mix appearance and mind. In this way, practice properly, The primordial self-born nature of reality, After realizing it, the time will come when it transforms into the expanse. The preliminary limbs are always, The seven-fold action without attachment, In the two seasons of spring and autumn, Separating and practicing is most excellent. Outwardly, the qualities of listening, Inwardly, the wisdom of thinking, Inwardly, the three samadhis of meditation, Like churning, diligently practice. The three types of distraction, large, small, and tiny, And contentment, patience, spaciousness, etc., Do not exert great effort on small matters, Discern and decide on important matters of listening and thinking. This was said to Geshe Kunzang Chöpel. Namo Guru Bhattaraye! Sanskrit Romanization: Namo guru bhaṭṭāya, Chinese literal meaning: Homage to the Guru Padmasambhava) The supreme deity Padmasambhava, The Guru who is the embodiment of all Buddhas, I pray to you, please bless me. Kraleb's niece, Metok Drön, Do not be distracted, listen to the words of this beggar, Do not forget, engrave it in your heart. At the time of abiding in equanimity, On the naked essence of emptiness and clarity, Various appearances are self-liberated, To abide is just like that. Have confidence and decide on this yourself, Do not be bound by dualistic grasping, Do not be tied by the rope of doubt, Do not be defiled by the attachment to grasping and the grasped, What is called your own mind essence, Has been like this for a long time.
