This is made by a mantra practitioner of the degenerate age. Someone said they needed a "Small Protector Guru's Song," So the wandering monk Orgyen Rigdzin Namgyal spoke. Namo Maha Guru Ye! Homage to the Great Guru) The incomparable father, the supreme accomplished lama, The lord of dharma with the name of glorious Padma, The precious one whose name is widely known, Please bless me and all beings, Especially bless me, this renunciant. I, this unbridled madman, a wanderer, Was born in the remote eastern region of Dokham, Through the power of merit, I encountered the Dharma, Through the good influence of karma, I heard the secret mantra, Through the strength of aspiration, I received prophecies, Through the convergence of auspicious circumstances, I wandered into U-Tsang (དབུས, refers to Lhasa and surrounding areas), Through the power of hardship, I unearthed hidden treasures, Because I wanted to go many places, I circumambulated sacred mountains, Because I wanted to stay many places, I engaged in meditation, Because I wanted to hear many things, I heard many teachings, Because I wanted to think many things, I distinguished right from wrong, Because I wanted to be good, I harmonized with everyone, Because I wanted to give much, I had little attachment, Because I wanted to transform much, I had many mudras, Because I wanted to say much, I revealed secret words, Because I wanted to gain wealth, I encountered the misfortune of trade, Because I wanted to accumulate little, I was greatly impoverished, Because I wanted to beg much, I was harsh to beggars, Because I wanted to eat much, I defiled offerings, Because I wanted to be strong, I was good at the eight worldly concerns, Because I wanted to endure little, I was short-tempered. In short, my behavior is quite strange, Thinking and contemplating it makes one laugh. There are many noble biographies of goodness, There are many base biographies of wickedness, There are many mediocre actions of the middle sort. Whatever others may see in their perception, When I reflect upon myself, When I examine myself with my own mind as witness, Regarding the biographies of nobility and goodness, Even if the lama torments me with scolding, reprimands, etc., The nine evil deeds, I have never had doubts arise in my mind. Even if I endure the suffering of hunger and cold, I have never regretted the Dharma. Even if I have any accumulated possessions, I have never been bound by stinginess in offerings and generosity. No matter what kind of monks or friends I associate with, I have never shown the malice of evil deeds. Even if I gain any profit or fame, I have never prioritized personal gain. Even if I bestow any kindness or help, I have never kept a record of repaying kindness. No matter what kind of lamas or spiritual teachers I meet, I have never covered myself with artificial faith. No matter what kind of practitioners or monks I see, I have never developed prejudice from a pure perspective. No matter with what kind of good or bad people I fight, I have never resorted to evil disputes.

Never had. Regarding various things, Dharma and non-Dharma, never had a biased understanding arise. Towards others, capable and incapable, never had the three acts of deception, trickery, and fraud. Towards relatives, parents, and close relations, never had attachment, clinging, meeting, or remembrance. This is the conduct of a virtuous person. In the conduct of a wicked person, desire is like a great blazing fire, hatred is like a raging red wind, ignorance is like thick, enveloping darkness, pride is like a collapsing cliff, jealousy is like dense, pelting hail, harsh words are like thunderous roars, foul language is like flashing red lightning. This is the conduct of a wicked person. The actions of a middling person are: regarding the vows of this life and the three affairs of the world, never had the thought of reversing others' intentions. Regarding the precious, sacred Dharma of the next life, never had the thought of abandoning devout faith. Whether doing good or bad deeds, never had one set of appearances and another set of hidden intentions. Whatever words are spoken, never had actions strayed from their meaning. This is the conduct of a middling person. One year younger, one life passed. Not staying in one place, wandering everywhere. He saw various things by going among various people. Some saw him as a wise man, some saw him as an accomplished one, some saw him as a madman, some saw him as a good man, some saw him as a bad man, some saw him as a beggar, some saw him as a practitioner, some saw him as a mantra practitioner, some saw him as a merchant, some saw him as wealthy, some saw him as poor, some saw him as a religious person, some saw him as a cheat, some saw him as a lama, some saw him as the Buddha manifest. What fault is there in others? In my homeland, born in Do Kham (mdo khams), everyone says I am the incarnation of Jamyang Khyentse (byams me sku skye), everyone hopes that I will become a good person. When wandering to remote places from a young age, in Palri (dpal ri) in Phyonggyas (phyong rgyas) in U-Tsang (dbus gtsang), people say I am a Khampa (khams pa) tulku, hoping that I will become a collector of wealth. In Potala, the crown ornament of all, people say I am a meditation master, considering me the owner of divine Dharma and worldly affairs. When repairing Samye Monastery (bsam yas), people say I am a Khampa (khams pa) uncle, thinking I am a rich man. Going to Tromo (khra mo) in Kongpo (kong yul) in the east, people say I am
