When I met a young practitioner, I said: "Where is your homeland? Which lama's teachings do you follow? How are you doing with listening, contemplating, and meditating? Which solitary retreat do you frequent? How long have you been staying here? Regarding the practice of the supreme view, What kind of warmth signs have you found?" He replied: "My homeland is in Nyang (present-day Nyingchi area of Tibet, in the Nyang River valley). I was tonsured by Tulku of Chipuk. I follow the Drukpa Kagyu school. I only know one incomplete method of meditation. I have been here for fourteen days." I asked: "What do you mean by an incomplete method of meditation? How is it incomplete? Who is the one who knows? Is this incompleteness external or internal? If it is external, then your meditation, Do you need to buy it from someone else? If it is internal, then your meditation, Has it lost its autonomy to others? Please tell me the meaning of incompleteness and knowing." He replied: "I don't know." I said: "The fruit of knowing is ignorance. For wisdom, the knowable should be dissolved into the Dharmadhatu. When doubts are completely eliminated from the mind, knowing disappears. This ignorance is actually good. The more knowing, the easier it is to collapse. If phenomena, mind, and knowing become powerful and famous, then the mind of comparison will throw you into samsara. Those who are inherently ignorant and deluded, the ordinary beings in the six realms, they have no merit from hearing externally, nor do they have merit from experiencing internally. They are worse than ordinary Dharma friends. Since that is the case, you have entered the Dharma, had your hair cut, changed your name, and put on monastic robes, relying on a lama only to increase afflictions, going in and out of the mountains, eating the food of the faithful, greedy for offerings, creating evil deeds. Are you a holder of the teachings or a destroyer of the teachings? Dharma friends should know this themselves. What kind of meditation can be compared with teachings and realized experiences? Although I am not a good vessel, I am not a bad person without a vessel. I have heard many unsurpassed Dharmas, and I understand the fruit of secret mantra. I practice the Great Perfection. If there are any realized experiences, we can exchange them." He replied: "I have a meditative state called 'shaking, trembling, quivering'. But I myself am not good." I said: "Your lineage is from the great Vajradhara, to the lineage of Naropa Pandita. In the sacred land of India in the past, realized beings were like stars in the sky. Did they attain liberation by practicing 'shaking'? In this snowy plateau, the great beings of your new school in the past, were walking in the sky."

Just a southern cloud! It became rich and prosperous. So, is liberation attained through meditating on abiding and moving? Abiding is the confused state of the Alaya. Moving is the deluded appearance of ignorance. Abiding is the natural state of mind itself. Moving is the delusion arising from mental events. Abiding is the root consciousness of the mind. Moving is the various habitual tendencies. Abiding is the eye sense. Moving is the object of form. Abiding is the ear sense. Moving is the object of sound. Abiding is the nose sense. Moving is the object of smell. Abiding is the tongue sense. Moving is the object of taste. Abiding is the body sense. Moving is the object of touch. Abiding is in the mire of samsara. Moving is the womb entrance of the six realms of beings. Abiding is in the body of leisure and opportunity. Moving is the wasting of life. Abiding is the egoistic demon. Moving is the five poisonous emotions. Abiding is the door of Dharma. Moving is the sectarian jealousy. Abiding is in the space of cause and effect. Moving is in the state of non-virtue. Abiding is in great wisdom. Moving is in the state of the eight worldly concerns. Abiding is in many acquired teachings. Moving is in the state of procrastination. Abiding is in the form of a religious person. Moving is being controlled by this life. Abiding is in the state of meditative absorption. Moving is the chasing of discursive thoughts. Abiding is in the state of ignorance. Moving is in the space of unawareness. Abiding is in the state of consciousness. Moving is in the state of hatred. Abiding is in the state of feeling. Moving is in the state of pride. Abiding is in the state of perception. Moving is in the state of desire. Abiding is in the state of volition. Moving is in the state of jealousy. This sequence of abiding and moving, Through the power of repeated practice, Hasn't it already abandoned the three realms of samsara? If the hope for goodness is not exhausted, Enlightenment is like a flower in the sky. If the fear of the lower realms is not removed, Existence is like the handle of a water bucket. The three experiences of bliss, clarity, and non-thought, If one loses control to the friend of Dharma nature, Won't one be infatuated with the gods of existence? The wisdom of intrinsic nature, Even if it experiences the suffering of samsara, It has never been stained by the obscurations of habitual tendencies. For example, in a pit of ashes, Even if mercury falls, it is free from the dust. In the fire crystal, the essence of the sun, Darkness is exhausted in its own nature.
