Perfectly received the empowerments and transmissions of Kuntrol (ཀུན་གྲོལ།, Sarvamukti, meaning 'All Liberation'). From the emanation of Ngari (མངའ་རིས།, Western Tibet) Ösel Chokyi Dorje, Ngawang Ösel Rangdröl, received the empowerments and transmissions of Guru Drakpo, Phurba, and the great compassion cycle of Düdjom Dorje's Khorwa Yingsdröl, all revealed from terma by the great vidyadhara Guru Chökyi Wangchuk. In Shang Zabu Lung, the Damchen Kyebu Chenpo (powerful oath-bound spirit) descended and said, "From Zabu Lung, a profound terma of Orgyen Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) has been extracted by a holy lineage holder." When this was said in the marketplace, people said, "It seems that either the emanation of Ösel Chok, or one of the Lopön Padma lineage holders, has taken the terma." A small auspicious connection was made by a beggar monk. After that, although the Lama Rinpoche did not want to go on pilgrimage and repeatedly excused himself, saying he would do retreat, due to a storm arising in Lho Mön (Southern Bhutan) and changes occurring in the local government, he took it as a sign from the prophecy. He resolved to go to the great sacred site, Mount Kailash (Gangri'i Gyalpo). Traveling northwards, he encountered immeasurable hardships. Some of the monks in his company did various inappropriate things, plunging (the Lama) into a swamp of mental anguish. Nevertheless, obstacles to the flourishing of the terma, broken samayas, fighting among attendants, etc. "The new law is bound by three streams. Without reliance on any knowledge, awareness wanders aimlessly. Because it is a secret sign, it is used for terma." He also considered this to be a sign from the prophecy, in terms of outer, inner, and secret levels. After that, he visited Mount Kailash, and the instructions of the second Buddha, Padmasambhava, manifested as if directly seen, and he encountered profound termas. He visited the sacred objects of sacred sites such as Treta Puri, Purang Jowo, and offered prayers. He circumambulated Lake Manasarovar (Mapham Yutso) and held a hundred tsok offerings. He met the accomplished yogi Ngawang Chöpel, and their minds became one, and he received the four samadhi empowerments. Hearing the fame of Rigdzin Garwang Dorje, he spent three days examining whether he was a tertön or not. He saw, inside a new house with a courtyard and a rooftop, five mounds of wet earth arranged like seats on top of a long mound.
