Therefore, due to this reason, it must be admitted as such. If it is a person, then it must be admitted as having any of the bases of male, female, or hermaphrodite, but if one says any one is acceptable, it creates a linguistic error of implying that all three can be admitted, which should be avoided. For specific color differences, one should understand it as what color it is. Although it is a color difference, even if it includes all colors, it will not exceed the scope of difference. If it is a thing, then any of its three classifications can be, but not each one individually. If it is knowable, then it can be either permanent or impermanent, but not each one individually, and so on. For example, neither the pillar nor the pot is a pillar, nor is it a pot. So, admit that neither is. Admit that neither is a pillar, nor is it a pot. If it is a person, one does not admit that it is male, one does not admit that it is female, one does not admit that it is hermaphrodite. Since "any one" is not clearly distinguished, if the previous proponent is taken as the subject, then one can separately admit male, etc., and can admit each separately. In general, if one admits each separately, it will exclude others. One must admit that there is no person who is neither male, nor female, nor hermaphrodite. In the names of the gods of the Form Realm and the first aeon unborn being, there is no distinction of male, female, etc., therefore it is a being, should it be counted as male? Or not hermaphrodite, etc. Then, a person, the subject, should not be neither male, nor female, nor hermaphrodite, because one should not admit any of them. The reason is established, because one does not admit it as male, one does not admit it as female, one should not admit it as hermaphrodite. If one says so, in the case of "person," since male, female, and hermaphrodite are not distinguished, but all people are regarded as people, although one does not admit each separately, the self-characteristic of the basis of a person must be any of those three, because it is impossible to be both all three, and none of the three. Then, if one does not distinguish these three and understands them collectively, then such a name and meaning of "person" is the general essence of a person. For the general essence of a person, that is a person, and one must admit that there is a person who is neither those three, nor is one of those three, if one thinks so. In the case of "a person is a person," considering the operation of sound, understanding, and meaning, although one must admit it as such, if one considers the general essence of a person, then it is merely the sound and meaning of a person, and the exclusion or other-exclusion of a person that excludes non-person is an unreal, permanent, general characteristic, therefore, a person is a real thing that returns from those three. An impermanent person is a self-characteristic, is a person's

The opposite of not being a person will not become a person. Where is that person who is not each and every part of a person? Please say when it appeared. If you don't know the place and time, then it becomes that there is no person. If it exists in all places and times, have you experienced it, etc. Say that to someone who says they are not a Gelugpa. Therefore, everything that is expressed by sound is expressed through the exclusion of others in terms of sound meaning. Although it is impossible to truly express the self-characteristic, when expressing the meaning of a name, one must not only cling to the universal characteristic, but must use terminology in a way that mixes the universal and the self-characteristic, which is the general practice of the scriptures. If one speaks contrary to this, then no commitment will be established. Even if the thing itself is not any of the three: inanimate, sentient, or non-sentient, acknowledging that things are impermanent is contemplating the self-characteristic of things. If one thinks from the exclusion of others in terms of the sound meaning of things, then is the thing permanent? Even if one must acknowledge that things are existent and non-existent, and are permanent, who would acknowledge it that way? Differentiate that the universal characteristic of things is permanent, and the self-characteristic is impermanent. In general, one cannot acknowledge that things are impermanent, nor can one think that a rabbit has no horns, because rabbit horns have sound meaning. Although one thinks that the sound meaning is not rabbit horns, so rabbit horns have no self-characteristic, if one says what is the use of studying sound meaning? The sound meanings of things, etc., are also the same as this, everything is a study after naming the self-characteristic. Not to mention that pillars, vases, etc., exist in terminology. Mainly, there are three qualities, the agent, rabbit horns, etc., are also relying on the object of sound meaning to study that there is no self-characteristic, so what is the use of sound meaning? In this way, there must be a person who is not any of the three: birth, etc., because that person is not these three. Merely a person who is not these three is not a person, this is a terminology that arises from the opposite of the sound meaning of a person. Even if there is no person who is not these three, but if it is a person, then say that one must acknowledge one of them, because one does not acknowledge each of these three. If there is no person who is not any of these three, then how can it be reasonable to acknowledge one of them? If merely the person and the general substance of the person are not pure, then it is not a person, because this is the exclusion of others of the sound meaning of a person or the name meaning of a person. At that time, if it is knowable, then permanent, impermanent, etc., all commitments of universal and particular, because the types are similar, so they all apply.
