The four elements. Mind and mental factors, as well as objective conditions, etc., when their respective entities exist simultaneously, the difference produced by the occasion of meeting causes each other to arise as a result in that very moment, with the distinction that if one does not exist, the other will not arise. Although the appearance of form to eye consciousness and so on requires the aggregation of three causes, at that very instant of aggregation, consciousness arises possessing the aspect of the object. If the object does not create the aspect in the present, then it has no ability to create it in the past or future. If the tactile sensation of a spark does not arise at the very moment it touches the body, then when it ceases, what is there to sense when the tactile sensation itself is gone? Therefore, the object of appearance must be present, and it must be accepted that all direct perception apprehends its own characteristic. The own-characteristic must be that the object, time, and aspect are unmixed. Therefore, one must apprehend the present object, and cannot apprehend the past or future, because they lack own-characteristic. Therefore, there is nothing unreasonable in apprehending distinctions nakedly and directly from an unexamined perspective. The object is the cause of consciousness, and if that cause does not produce a distinction, it is not an object; if it does produce a distinction, then its aspect must appear in consciousness, so is it reasonable to examine the aspect of consciousness? Fire Sheep Year, the fifteenth day of the seventh month. Auspicious! Consciousness has four conditions: when eye consciousness arises possessing the aspect of blue, a blue flower, like the present one, is the objective condition; the present eye faculty is the dominant condition; the consciousness that arose before the present consciousness is the immediately preceding condition. The aggregation of these three is what gives rise to the four causal conditions, just as form and its image. Therefore, the object exists next to the aspect, because consciousness cannot directly contact the object. When the present form and the present mirror are aggregated, the image appears at that very moment, but it does not have an immediate cause, nor a continuum of its own kind. Just as the image of lightning appears in a mirror. When there is lightning, the image can appear, but where is it when it ceases? The continuum of similar substances is not momentary, so the former is the cause and the latter is the result, and they cannot exist simultaneously. All phenomena that arise together, becoming cause and effect and all that is caused, are simultaneous, and the special results produced by their meeting are also causes.

It can also exist simultaneously. If you think there is no cause and effect simultaneously, there is cause and effect. Because even without the immediate cause, there is a cause and effect that is a special function, without which it would not arise. This seems important. If viewed from the perspective of the immediate cause, cause and effect are not simultaneous. The moment of the continuation of pottery does not depend on the vase. The moment of the continuation of the vase exists independently of the pottery. The same is true of pigments and canvases, where vases with patterns and canvases with colors, as conditions of causes and objects of conditions, become more special moments than before, arising at the moment when conditions and objects of conditions meet, just like holding a vase in your hand. The current spinning wheel, the current water source, and everything else are the same. Also, if it is said that the aggregation of three conditions as a cause produces the result of consciousness possessing the aspect of an object, and these two have a sequence, then that moment of the aggregation or encounter of the three conditions must be understood as the unimpeded ability of the immediate cause that arose immediately before. The encounter of light and darkness and hot and cold is also the same. Think. Encounter and cessation of inability. In the third moment, the meaning is contradictory. Said. In some cases, it is viewed from the perspective of the parts of a substance aggregate and the continuation of a substance. If viewed from the perspective of minute parts such as the moment at the end of time and the atom, contradictory multiple moments cannot exist simultaneously. If both light and darkness must be seen simultaneously when they first meet, that is impossible. Just as in a room at dawn, there is a gray light, but subtle darkness is not visible, this is because there are few light particles and many dark particles, so it is established from the part of the substance. Gradual brightening is also due to the continuation of the gradual increase in light particles. It is said that there is no encounter of contradictory minds, and they cannot exist simultaneously. That is to say, thinking that it is greater than no-self, etc., wisdom becomes clearer, and inverted consciousness becomes smaller and smaller, these contradictions are not more powerful than themselves in terms of their ability to obstruct the contradictory opposites of their respective aspects. If a correct analysis is made, encounter is impossible, and obstructing without encounter is also impossible. However, the mutual exclusion of contradictory opposites exists in conventional terms, just like analyzing arising and ceasing. Even if obstructed after encounter, at the very moment of encounter, the action of one arising and one ceasing is performed.
