is equality itself. However, in conventional terms, there is suchness, because the absence of elaboration is always the case. Therefore, it follows that there is no subject of suchness. If asked why, it is because a pot, as a subject of suchness, has never been produced at all. If suchness is something, then does the generality of a pot exist without a pot, or is it not to be examined, or is it to be examined? Furthermore, if one does not distinguish between the way things are and the way they appear, it is difficult to accept. Even Mind-Only proponents do not completely deny form. They do not deny the form of generalities either, but they do not accept it when examining the way things are. In terms of appearance, it is difficult to accept if there is no generality of a pot. Similarly, Madhyamikas also distinguish acceptance and non-acceptance through subsequent cognition. It must be understood that non-existence is based on the way things are. In the Mantrayana path, even the fact that sentient beings are Buddhas, if examined in terms of the way things are, does not require the addition of inherent existence; if inherent existence is not added in terms of appearance, it is difficult to accept. If it follows that a Buddha is born in hell, why is that? Because sentient beings are Buddhas. One casts emptiness of truth, hell, and so on. Because the nature of sentient beings is Buddha. If the above inference is understood as having pervasion, then the understanding is good, because on the level of being a Buddha, there is no going to hell, and in terms of emptiness of truth, going to hell is not true. If one eats food, and the Mind-Only proponent is inferred to be eating sentient beings, it also becomes a pervasion, because it is mind. Eating food is unreal, because it appears as mind. Because this mind is not actually food. Similarly, in terms of being a Buddha, I have never gone to hell. If it follows that sentient beings are not born in hell, why is that? If it is said because they are Buddhas, it is not pervasive. It is accepted in terms of the way things are, but not accepted in terms of the way things appear. Since everyone has various inconsistencies between the way things are and the way things appear, one must bow one's head. If existence is pervaded by impermanence, then one infers ultimate truth. If one says that ultimate truth does not exist, then it follows that it exists, because the two truths exist, so it is pervasive. On the other hand, it follows that ultimate truth exists. If one accepts that, then it follows that it is a thing, because it exists. This can be pervasive, because both need to be traced back to the boundary of pervasion. In reality, one is established as existing in conventional terms, and the other is established as existing in things. It follows that both existence and non-existence exist. It follows that non-existence exists. If one accepts that, then if one says that these two are contradictory, then that
