Like something unreal. If we differentiate, relative to the contradictory basis, it is the commonality of pillar and vase. It is the 'is' of the pillar, not the 'is' of the vase. It is the 'is' of the vase, not the 'is' of the pillar. Although it is the commonality of both, generally it is a commonality, there are four types. The first is like a thing, the second is a branch of the pillar, such as being able to support the roof and function, it is the 'is' of the pillar, not the 'is' of the vase, etc., there are many ways of expressing it. The third is a branch of the vase, etc., and not a pillar, etc. The fourth is permanence, etc. Although there is no knowable that is not included by the dharmadhatu, one cannot apply the terms 'common' and 'particular' to it, because there is no duality. The general meaning of dharmadhatu is: even if one can apply it as a branch of ultimate truth and a branch of knowable, what dharma is the essence of dharmadhatu itself a branch of? Because it has no other commonality beyond that. What is it not a commonality of? Because it has no branch. Therefore, it is thought: because the realm of dharma has no distinctions. Then, if relative to each dharma, there are distinctions such as the suchness of form of the aggregates, the suchness of feeling, etc., that is only in name, in ultimate truth, their dharmata is not different, as it is said: the tathagatagarbha of the past, etc. Although the dharmadhatu is divided into two truths and established in ultimate truth, it is not different from conventional truth, because conventional truth is the dharmata of non-duality of ultimate truth. How can there be a difference between the two from that? Therefore, if from that aspect, the dharmadhatu is just a single bindu, a realm of self-awareness for each individual, there is nothing to do in name. Therefore, the realm of dharma cannot be called dharma, nor can it be called non-dharma, because it is beyond names. Then, if the dharmadhatu is established as the ultimate reality, etc., is that not meaningless? There is no fault, because this is an establishment made for the realm of self-awareness of each individual, which is free from all names, and it is not an attachment made towards the essence of the dharmadhatu, etc. Amazing! If one says that the general vase is not the general vase, even if one admits that the thing is not the general vase, but if one thinks that the general vase is not a thing, that is also possible. The reason why the general vase is not a thing is that the meaning of the word 'general vase' is that it is the exclusion of others or a negation, it is unreal. According to that way, all word meanings are similar to this. The general vase is a vase

Although there are reasons to speak based on non-universal expressions, that is merely the way words are used. It cannot prevent the understanding of the ultimate meaning of the pot-universal and non-pot-universal. Even though a person is not the universal of human substance from the perspective of sound and meaning alone, the sound "person" expresses what is not the object of meaning. It does not accept in all ways as expressing the universal of non-human substances, just as if a person is a person, then they are not a pudgala, and that a person is not a person, and so on, are accepted. If it is not a person, then the name "person" does not understand a pudgala and something that has substance. If a person must be accepted as permanent and non-substantial, then that is impossible. Haha. Whether it is the name of a thing like a pot, or the name of a non-thing like a rabbit's horn, any name can only express sound and meaning, and cannot express its own characteristic reality. However, upon examination, the actual object expressed by a name is sound and meaning. But the object expressed by a name should not be understood solely as sound and meaning, because attachment understands the object's own characteristic, thereby reaching a consensus. Therefore, the pot-universal can also be understood as things, etc., but not solely as sound and meaning. The name "rabbit's horn" only has sound and meaning, but no own characteristic. However, because the rabbit's horn has no own characteristic, it is said that the rabbit's horn does not exist. Even if there is sound and meaning, that is not a rabbit's horn. A rabbit's horn must be understood as the shape of a horn growing on the head of a rabbit. If it is not understood in this way, the shape of the rabbit's horn will not appear, and if it does not appear, it will not be known that it does not exist. When "pot" is said, it is understood as the shape of a bulging belly. How can sound and meaning alone have a bulging belly? Similarly, fire is understood as hot. How can the name of fire have heat? If it does, then when fire is spoken, the mouth would be burned. How can sound and meaning have heat? Similarly, this should be understood for everything. In general, the classification of sounds such as "pot" shows the meanings separately, just as they are separated by the division of sounds. The pot is a pot, but the pot is not the pot-universal, not a particular of the pot, not the cause of the pot, not the effect of the pot, etc. There are things to be understood in each of these that are beyond the sound "pot." "Pot" refers to a bulging belly, and "pot-universal" refers to the universal of that. Therefore, the objects understood are different simply through sound. Because of that, the statement that the pot-universal is not a pot, etc., is valid. It must be understood that the pot-universal is a pot, because everything that is sound and meaning is not itself, so it cannot be understood. The pot also seems to be a pot, but not the pot-universal.
