Entering the Middle Way. Discursive thoughts gradually subside, and the capacity of one's own mind gradually improves. Although there is no other introduction from the lama, this method of settling the essential points of the instructions makes it easy to settle the mind and has no obstructions of the winds. By settling the mind inwardly in this way, one quickly and effortlessly attains workable samadhi. Here, there is no need for the subtle channels of the heart, no color, letters, or holding of the winds. In the very existence of one's own mind, one maintains a continuous stream of awareness while looking. There is no more profound, easier to practice, and more meaningful teaching on calm abiding than this. First, once the mind has settled, when the mind looks at the mind, just as when looking at the sky, looking and looking, one does not fixate on what is seen. From all wrong views, one is naturally liberated. The union of emptiness and clarity is the secret of the mind, and the essential point of reality dawns. Then, the great primordial awareness-emptiness, the spontaneously arising coemergent wisdom, the meaning of the great perfection of luminosity, will be seen through the blessings of the lineage. Written by Mipham on the sixth day of the second month of the Fire Horse year at noon. May it be virtuous! Furthermore, whatever is the seeing of reality in which grasping and apprehended are nonexistent, how could there be any other experience than from the top of this very mind of oneself? The knowing that has not experienced emptiness and non-duality is not self-arisen wisdom. At the time when non-duality is experienced, because of emptiness, it is unborn and unceasing. The meaning of the naturally luminous, primordial nature that is without location and cannot be grasped, whatever is self-arisen wisdom, is the reality of the two truths being non-dual, and is the nature of the Great Middle Way. Dharmadhatu (Tibetan: ཆོས་དབྱིངས་) refers to the object, and wisdom refers to the subject. As long as the subject is impermanent and the object is permanent, as long as they appear separately, it is not the real experience of the self-arisen wisdom that is non-dual of the sphere and awareness. Once wisdom is truly recognized, then dharmadhatu is also it, wisdom is also it, and non-duality is also it. This is the primordial true meaning, the coemergent great bliss, and the reality of all dharmas never changes. If, in meaning, the two, arising and non-arising, are distinguished separately, then the reality that is non-dual of the sphere and awareness can never exist. Therefore, even if distinguished by opposition, the nature that is non-dual in meaning is completely beyond the scope of the activity of the mind that has dualistic appearances. So!

When experienced through one's own awareness, it touches the meaning of inexpressible equality. In that, there is no duality of appearance and emptiness. Dharma and Dharmata are inseparable, and the object and subject cannot be distinguished. The single thigle (ཏིག་ལེ་,bindu, essence) is the Dharmadhatu. Although it cannot be expressed by words, the self-awareness is clear and radiant. It is the state that has been present from the beginning. In the meaning of reality, there is no doubt. In that state, all phenomena of samsara and nirvana are equal, pure, without increase or decrease. Emaho, wondrous and amazing is the Dharma! All the paths of the Mahayana converge on it. The aspect of meaning is perfectly pure and glorious. It is the Manjushri (འཇམ་དཔལ་,gentle glory) of the definitive meaning. Written by Mipham (མི་ཕམ་པ།) on the 22nd day of the 11th month of the Water Dragon year. It is of utmost importance. The appearance of objects is like reflections in a mirror. Arranged as ornaments of awareness, they are extremely radiant. There is no acceptance or rejection; leave it as it is. The clinging of the mind is like a mirage in the sky. Emerging from the power of awareness, it is vividly clear. There is no calculation; leave it as it is. All appearances of objects and subjects, and of the mind, arise from conditions and are subject to change. The non-existent appearances, the various images of emptiness, appear. Although all of these are inseparable from the nature of reality, the pursuit of these changing conceptualizations obscures the meaning of the unchanging nature, free from obscurations. Because it is difficult to directly and suddenly realize it, without being deceived by appearances or tainted by clinging, when whatever appears is left without acceptance or rejection, all ordinary appearances and attachments to objects and subjects are unobstructed, unbound, and free from all benefit and harm. The Dharmadhatu of all-pervading awareness is impartial. Its essence is primordially pure, free from the support of objects of focus. Its nature is spontaneously present, clear, and free from confusion. The mind is all-pervading, complete with all the dharmas of samsara and nirvana. In the primordially pure sky, the darkness of the alaya is cut off. The spontaneously present luminosity is liberated from the prison of grasping and being grasped. All-pervading samsara and nirvana are the treasury of effortless compassion. Emaho, the essential meaning of primordial Buddhahood, as seen through the guru's instructions, is to abide effortlessly at the edge of non-meditation awareness. At that time, all objects are like stars in the ocean, and the six aggregates of consciousness are like mirages in the sky. Whatever arises is adorned as being free from benefit and harm. One enjoys it without difference in the state of awareness. The clinging to the self and mind is pacified in the Dharmadhatu. The boundary between samsara and nirvana is cut off in the expanse of Dharmata. All of existence is perfected in the state of awareness, free from faults and obscurations.
