Alas, this body too, Will be abandoned, wandering in an unknown place. If no slight return is seen, What benefit are this life's friends and wealth? Those who prioritize this life, pursuing pleasure, Are tormented by intense regret at the time of aging and death. Actions done, Are fruitless and sinful. Bearing a heavy burden, they go to the realm of suffering. For the sake of constantly grasping this life, desiring self-pleasure, Accumulating wealth, gathering relatives, subduing enemies, reciting mantras, etc., Those who diligently engage in these activities, Are the greatest of errors within delusion. Whoever is born, from that moment on, Aging and death are inevitable laws. Since this great enemy has already seized us, guarding cautiously, Those who cling greatly to the happiness of this life are mistaken. Thus, even the suffering of dying once, Cannot be endured by those with self-grasping. How much more so the three lower realms, facing the cycle of birth and death, Whose endless suffering, who can bear? If one is not liberated from this deluded mind, Wherever one is born, whatever one does, there is much suffering. Those beings who drift on the waves of conceptual thought, Have very little opportunity for freedom and happiness. Though there are many worlds, they will all be destroyed by formation, duration, decay, and emptiness, All beings are born and die again and again. Even for oneself alone, in this single lifetime, The various joys and sorrows experienced are vividly remembered. In the realms of gods, underground, and humans, The various joys and sorrows experienced are beyond words. However happy or however painful, Conditioned phenomena are impermanent, moving, and ceasing. No matter how happy, There is no sense of satisfaction, No matter how painful, there is no renunciation of samsara. Taking all suffering as one's own, Alas, look at the nature of this deluded mind! In happiness, pride increases and attachment grows, In suffering, depression arises and happiness is sought. No matter what happens, one does not enter the path of lasting happiness, Alas, wandering in a continuous stream of suffering. The number of conceptual thoughts that arise in a single day, Is difficult to count, like the waves of water. With meaningless acceptance and rejection, hope and fear, Exhausting oneself, one brings suffering upon oneself. This involuntary, uncontrollable conceptual thought, Continually revolves like a wheel, Its root lies in the mind that grasps at duality. If there is no dualistic grasping, there will be no elaboration. Bound by elaboration, it is improper.

thinking in the mind. Being conceited as "I" and taking and abandoning happiness and suffering, This uninterrupted network of thoughts, Even in dreams, it never ceases. If you observe well, such a difficult burden, Instead of carrying meaningless suffering on your own, Since there is no one forcing you, Isn't it better to put down this difficult burden? Even if you think that happiness and suffering are caused by circumstances, If you observe well, it is caused by your own mind. Whatever the mind thinks, it transforms accordingly, On external objects, there is no happiness or suffering. From beginningless time until now, Experiencing countless kinds of happiness and suffering, There is no meaning or result, and no trace of experience, Just like experiencing happiness and suffering in a dream. The pursuit of thoughts, the general meaning appears as an object, In dreams, those appear clearly, In daytime, they appear as actually existing. Everything is a manifestation of the mind, without distinction. In the world, whatever appears, Ignorant beings hold it as a continuous whole. Those with analytical abilities see it as impermanent and multiple, Everything moves like lightning and eventually stops. This appearance of interdependent arising from the gathering of causes and conditions, Even if it is just an appearance, experiencing it without deception, But if the wise analyze it well, Even for a moment, there is no arising or ceasing. Although due to the interdependent arising of habitual imprints of one's own mind, The experience of mere appearance cannot be prevented, But like the appearance of a dream without coming or going, It appears that way to those with various concepts. Clinging to appearances, engaging in taking and abandoning, Beings who repeatedly become accustomed to concepts, Because they do not understand the tricks of their own mind's illusion, Taking and abandoning, hope and fear arise like ripples in a river. Arising from the power of the mind, appearing to the mind, Discriminated by the mind, and completely clung to. Again, That mind wanders and is confused endlessly in the three realms of existence. If you observe well, among the many dharmas, The so-called "I" cannot be found at all, Even the established dharmas are like dust particles, Since there is no substance, who will wander where? Here there is no person, and no dharma, No happiness or suffering, no samsara, and no nirvana, Since there is no bondage and no liberation, The mind is bound and tormented by its own conceptual thoughts. Dharmas are unborn, like the moon in water, Without inherent existence.
