I supplicate, Guru Rinpoche, please bless, assembly of Vidyadharas and Dakinis, grant supreme and common accomplishments to the devoted child, please purify all breaches of samaya, liberate outer, inner, and secret obstacles into the expanse. Until enlightenment, may you never abandon your guidance, may life, merit, and realization increase like the waxing moon. Please bless that all wishes be spontaneously fulfilled. When giving instructions, first, upon the rain of blessings of the Yoga of the Guru of Oddiyana, according to the text, through focused guidance, recite the seven-line prayer a hundred thousand times, opening the door of blessings, then the four common thoughts that turn the mind, the five uncommon refuges, etc. The main practice, the instructions of the Great Perfection, are divided into three parts. First, contemplating the difficulty of obtaining leisure and endowment. The nature of leisure and endowment, the difficulty of obtaining it, the great significance of obtaining it, and the importance of diligently contemplating not wasting it, are the four. First, the eight freedoms: hell, hungry ghosts, animals, long-lived gods, these are the four non-human unfree states. Border barbarians, those with wrong views, lands where Buddhas do not appear, and the mute and foolish, these are the four human unfree states. Separated from these eight unfree states, contemplate the way in which we now possess the eight freedoms, one by one in a definite order, in each session. After completely contemplating one, move on to the next. Likewise, contemplate the ten endowments. Having become a human, having complete five senses, having been born in the central land, not having reversed karma, in the

The five self-endowments of faith: the coming of the Buddha, the preaching of the Dharma, the abiding of the teachings, the existence of a way to enter them, and the completeness of conducive conditions such as spiritual friends, and the five other-endowments as well, each and every one. Alas, even being born as a human is extremely rare, with the three lower realms being so numerous, I am so fortunate to have obtained a human body this time, and like this, for all other things as well, there are many opposite aspects, and for oneself, now that these qualities are complete, one should not waste them in any way, one should generate such a firm conviction, and contemplate that everything is complete. Secondly, the eighteen freedoms and endowments, each and every one of them is difficult to attain, and that oneself now possesses them all is extremely rare. This special basis for practicing the Dharma is extremely rare, one should think in general like this. This was difficult to obtain before as well, and will be difficult to obtain again in the future, so one should think that one should accomplish something meaningful now. In particular, one should contemplate extensively according to the scriptures from the perspective of number, cause, and example. Thirdly, having obtained such a rare basis at this time, since the means for accomplishing great long-term goals have been established, one should not engage in small matters and sinful actions. One should contemplate the reasons why this cannot be compared to a wish-fulfilling jewel vase and the like. Fourthly, having obtained such great meaning in this way, it is a pity that even a single morning has been spent meaninglessly in the past. Now, one should quickly accomplish long-term meaning from this impermanent and insubstantial basis, and not waste it meaninglessly, one should contemplate this repeatedly until a change arises in one's mind, and one should strive in every way. The result of this is that a change arises in one's mind that is different from before. One must contemplate clearly until any change, large or small, has arisen. Secondly, regarding impermanence, even having obtained such a rare basis, one should contemplate that it will not remain for long, but will change like lightning. This is divided into four: the outer environment, the inner beings, the certainty of death, and the uncertainty of when one will die. Firstly, the changes of the four seasons and all of existence in terms of formation, abiding, destruction, and emptiness, have already been destroyed in the past. Now, they are being destroyed to the point that not even a particle remains. They will also change in this way in the future, one should contemplate that this is the nature of conditioned phenomena. After that is complete, secondly, everything contained within the inner beings, whether long-lived or short-lived, ultimately no one will not die. All the good and bad that existed in the past have passed away. Even the Buddhas and universal monarchs have passed away, what need is there to mention someone like oneself? Especially in this short-lived era, there is no trust. Within a hundred years, everyone will die without a single one remaining.
