Although this was not translated during the time of Sakya Pandita, after that, through this translation, a deeper understanding of the previous translators was gained. Achola, the son of the Poison King, his son was named Swift, his son was Dilipa, his son was Bhagiratha, who pleased Brahma through asceticism and brought down the Ganges River, etc., are well-known stories, but having heard a story that he was born from the churning of the (Tibetan: བྷ་ག་, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhaga, Sanskrit Romanization: bhaga, Chinese literal meaning: vagina) of the Poison King's daughters, it is good to translate it as the well-known "Fortunate Chariot," just like translating (Tibetan: བྷ་ག་ཝཱན་, Sanskrit Devanagari: bhagavan, Sanskrit Romanization: bhagavan, Chinese literal meaning: Bhagavan) as "Bhagavan" and translating Rudra as "Wrathful." Later translators mostly followed this translation, not because they did not see the story and did not know how to translate, but because they were also unsure that "Tagu's belly" was Vishnu, so they did not translate Vishnu either. Therefore, one word can be explained in many ways from the root and variations of the word, etc., which occurs in most word names. Regarding Vishnu being called "flower belly" and "rope belly," in the commentary Wish-Fulfilling Jewel, it is said that Vishnu's wife is the goddess Grama, who believes that Vishnu wears a garland of flowers on his head, but the garland does not reach higher than his belly, so it is placed on his belly, hence it is called "flower belly." In this way, the garland is strung with thread, so is "rope belly" also from this? I think perhaps it is because there is a story of a rope wrapped around the belly in childhood. The story of the helmsman Sinhala, according to the Sutra, because his name is named after the continent, the original name is retained, etc., was done by Ka Jok and others. Ka Jok and others are holy beings who consciously incarnated to promote Buddhism in the snowy land of Tibet, and they are all proficient in their respective meanings. They are not only proficient in Indian languages, but also understand the languages of all border regions such as Dakini Land and China without confusion. Therefore, they are able to translate the Sutras, Tantras, and their commentaries without any errors, which they have done the most. What is meant by semantic translation? It does not mean translating regardless of the words, but refers to clearly recognizing the meaning expressed by that word and then translating it, so it is called semantic translation, because one word also has many meanings.

To translate the meaning of a sentence accurately and without error is true semantic translation ability. If not, relying solely on the words, sometimes it is correct, but sometimes it is also wrong, because it is difficult to determine which of the many meanings of the words is correct. Therefore, Sakya Pandita said in "A Letter to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Ten Directions": "From Sanskrit to Tibetan, all translations by the wise are correct. If translated by those who do not understand Sanskrit, errors in meaning are often seen. I will correct these errors and explain them. Some translations by Kaqog and others are not very consistent with Sanskrit, while others have made semantic corrections. Some ancient words are difficult to understand, while others retain the old translations. Some have been modified with new words, while others seem to retain Chinese transliterations. Due to regional differences, even the same Chinese character has different pronunciations, and the Tibetan transliterations are therefore different. These places where the meanings are the same or different are difficult for even the wise to fully understand, let alone the foolish. I have come to understand these well through the power of learning. However, due to the attachment, aversion, and ignorance of sentient beings, I am despised. Whether I understand these or not, the Protector and his retinue know." Just as these great ancient translators knew the true nature of sound and meaning, and thus determined the Sutras, Vinaya, and Shastras without the slightest error, it is of great significance for measuring the profound value of meaning. They translated so many Sutras, Vinaya, and Shastras, without any conflict with the thoughts of the great chariot masters. There is no need to act like monkeys trying to catch the moon, arbitrarily changing things without understanding the meaning, nor is it necessary to ask what this person says or what that person says. These translations have become the eyes of the Land of Snows, but people do not remember their kindness. For almost all the tantras translated by these great translators, it is said that they were written by so-and-so translator, etc. This is like a continuation of Sakya Pandita's above remarks: "Those who slander the Dharma are mostly praised by the world. Because I refuted the non-Dharma, the world mostly slanders me. The Buddha is compassionate to the world, but the world mostly does not follow. Deceivers..."
