Alipa. His son Bhagiratha, who pleased Brahma with great asceticism, thus bringing down the Ganges River, etc., is a well-known story, and he also heard a story about being born from the rubbing of the (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) བྷ་ག་, bhaga, bhaga, vagina of poisonous daughters, but it is well known that it is better to translate it as "Blessed Chariot," just as (Tibetan, Sanskrit Devanagari, Sanskrit Romanization, Chinese literal meaning) བྷ་ག་ཝཱན་, bhagavan, bhagavan, Bhagavan is translated as "Bhagavan" and Rudra is translated as "Fierce." Later translators also followed this practice, most likely because they did not see the story, so they did not know how to translate it. If that is the case, then it is also uncertain why "rope belly" is the reason for Vishnu, so Vishnu is also not translated. Thus, one word can be explained in many ways from the root and variations of the word, etc., which occurs in most word names. Regarding Vishnu's "flower belly" and "rope belly," in the commentary "Wish-Fulfilling Jewel," Vishnu's wife is called the goddess Grama, who believes that Vishnu wears a garland of flowers on his head, but the garland does not reach higher than his belly, so it is placed on his belly, hence it is called "flower belly." In this way, the garland is strung with thread, so is "rope belly" also from this perspective? I think perhaps it is because I have seen the story of a rope wrapped around the belly in childhood. The story of the helmsman Simhala comes from the Sutra Pitaka, and because his name was named after the island, the original name was retained, etc., which were made by Skakog, etc. Skakog, etc., in order to promote the Dharma in the snowy land of Tibet, are all consciously incarnated holy beings, who are proficient in their respective meanings, not only proficient in Indian languages, but also know all the language types of the continent of the Dakinis and all border areas such as China, so they can translate the Sutras, Vinaya, Abhidharma and their commentaries without any errors, and they mostly engage in meaning translation. What is meaning translation? It does not mean translating regardless of the words, but it refers to clearly recognizing the meaning expressed by that word and then translating it, so it is called meaning translation, because one word has many meanings, and being able to translate without error that "the meaning in this situation is like this" is being able to perform meaning translation. If it is not like this, relying only on words, sometimes it will not be wrong, but sometimes it may be wrong, because it is impossible to determine which of the many meanings of the word it is.

It is because of the difficulty. Therefore, Sakya Paṇḍita said in the "Letter of Entreaty to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas of the Ten Directions": When Sanskrit is translated into Tibetan, all that is translated by the wise, because those who do not know the sound translate, errors of words and meanings can be seen in various ways. Such things I have corrected and said. Some of the translations by Ka Jok, etc., are slightly inconsistent with the sound. Some have been changed in meaning. Some old words are difficult to understand. Some take the former as the standard. Some are corrected by new judgments. Some seem to retain the Chinese sound. Some are due to the differences in Kham. Even for one Chinese word, the way of speaking is different, and the Tibetan phonetic changes are also different. Whether these words and meanings are the same or different, it is difficult for fools to know, not to mention the wise. I know these well with the power of learning in terms of words. However, people despise me because of attachment, hatred, and ignorance. Whether I know these or not, the Protector and his retinue know. As it is said, these great translators of the past knew the place of sound and meaning as it is, and determined all the scriptures, including sutras, tantras, and treatises, without any subtle errors. It is extremely remarkable for measuring the depth of meaning. Without any contradiction with the ideological explanations of the great chariot-makers, so many sutras, tantras, and treatises have been translated, but without understanding the meaning, they are put aside at will, and then they ask what this person says and what that person says. There is no need for any modification at all. These scriptures are becoming the eyes of the Tibetans in the snowy region, but they do not remember their kindness. For most of the tantras translated by those great beings, it is also said that they were written by so-and-so translator, etc. This statement is like the continuation of what Sakya Paṇḍita said above: Those who slander the Dharma, the world mostly praises them. Because I refute the illegal, the world mostly slanders me. The Buddha is compassionate to the world, but the world mostly does not follow. The deluder, the one with flower arrows, the world follows. Alas! People with shallow merit, because they have lost their divine share, practice ghosts and gods. As it is said, it should be known that it is similar to this, remembering the kindness of these great translators of the past.
