This mantra pacifies all poisons and diseases of gods, nagas, etc. This mantra is spoken by eighty crore Buddhas and eliminates all obscurations. One will be liberated from difficult-to-cure diseases such as burning heart disease and be reborn in Sukhavati in the future. If this is practiced for seven days, or thirteen days, or even for twenty-one days, it will be accomplished even if one has committed the five inexpiable sins. If it is not accomplished, then I myself will have committed the five inexpiable sins, this is the promise of the Noble Avalokiteshvara. Having risen in the morning, bathed with fragrant water, and abiding in cleanliness, if one recites the essence mantra together with the dharani before the image of Simhanada, leprosy, sores, boils, carbuncles, scrofula, swelling, dropsy, kidney stones, emaciation, epidemics, poisons, various accumulating diseases, lung disease, difficulty in breathing, and all diseases of wind, bile, and phlegm will be liberated. Also, one will be liberated from all harm such as curses, executioners, untimely death, etc., and all harm-doers will be destroyed. This dharani is blessed by all Buddhas. If one holds, recites, or writes this, then Mahakala, the Four Great Kings, Varuna, and all powerful ones will follow after him, destroying all heretics and adversaries within a thousand yojanas. Mistakes in writing, meditation, mantras, mudras, etc., are eliminated by reciting this. This accomplishes all actions without rituals. Praising and reciting this dharani mantra liberates one from the karmic obscurations of the five inexpiable sins. For a thousand kalpas, one will not be reborn in the lower realms or in a woman's body. One will enter all mandalas and recite all mantras. Thus it is said. In front of the image of Simhanada, take fresh cow dung that has not fallen to the ground. Make eight separate, unmixed mandalas. On each mandala, spread five clusters of flowers. Then, offer flowers, incense, perfume, garlands, and powders, and recite the dharani thirteen times on each mandala.

Gather the ashes. Then, recite the mantra seven times over the remaining ashes, and apply them to the sick person, and all diseases will be pacified. After the session, make offerings and praises. If desired, recite the praises from within the dharani. Finally, contemplate non-objectification and dedicate the merit. This is also known as Compassionate Subduer of the Nagas. It is also known as Eliminating Heart Disease. For difficult-to-cure Naga diseases and diseases of the earth lords, it is praised as destroying all diseases. All obstacles and declines will be exhausted, and it will bestow the best of good fortune and the ultimate fruit of accomplishment desired in the heart, bringing great happiness, therefore, those who want to become better should accept it. This is following the intent of the dharani and Indian texts without error, on an auspicious day, namely the Fire Bird year (Tibetan calendar), the sixth day of the waxing moon of the month of Jyeshtha (Tibetan fourth month), Thursday, when the constellation is Rohini, it was written in the teaching and practice Dharma Continent by the Joyful One of Manjushri (Manjushri Bodhisattva). May this also bestow inexhaustible benefits and happiness to all sentient beings. ༈ །།The praise spoken from the Lion's Roar Dharani is: Om. Great Compassionate Avalokiteshvara has one hundred and eight names. How wonderful! How wonderful! Buddha Bhagavan. Starting from "Having done the deeds" etc. is similar. Bhagavan. Having done the deeds and having acted, The burden is cast off, self-interest is attained, The bonds of existence are completely exhausted, Completely liberated from the true boundary. Among all courageous and powerful beings, The most supreme is the one who has attained the other shore. Transcending existence, the two accumulations are perfected. Ah! Diligent in benefiting others, possessing great compassion, Supremely loving to all sentient beings, The sole protector of all three realms, Skilled at liberating sentient beings from the boundary.
