In the south and southwest, they reside in the center of the fire mandala. Born from Pūpū (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) and the curved knife are the rakshasa with the face of a tiger and the yaksha with the face of an owl, both white, emanating from the tongue and the water passage. In the north and northeast, they reside in the center of the water mandala. Born from Tlītlī (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning) and the curved knife are the stupefying jackal-faced one and the garuda with the face of a garuda, both yellow, emanating from the anal passage and the crown of the head, residing in the center of the earth mandala in the west and northwest. All of these have one face, three eyes, two hands holding a curved knife and a skull cup. They are naked, adorned with five mudras, and wear garlands of heads. They reside in the mandala of their respective elements, with their two feet in a rounded stance, and because they purify the earth element, they are the protectors of the fifth outer circle. The nagas and bhutas, water and earth, are also completely combined, thereby protecting the elements of the body. Thus, the six classes of beings, the sixty protectors, are arranged by completely combining them from within and without, holding the pride of the protective wheel, and reciting: Om Sarva Tathagata Raksha Chakra Svabhava Atma Ko'ham (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning). Although it is not done in the practice of the Jonangpas, at this time, inviting the wisdom beings, as well as sealing, empowerment, and mantra recitation, are more detailed than in other sadhana practices. If that is not possible, then with the iron hook mudra, recite JAH (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), inviting the wisdom beings and their supports. With the vajra mudra, recite HŪṂ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), causing the wisdom beings to merge into the samaya beings. With the noose mudra, recite BAM (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), binding them inseparably. With the bell mudra, recite HOḤ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), pleasing them. With the staff mudra, recite HIḤ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), making them of one taste. Make the wisdom mandala and its supports of one taste with the samaya beings. Seal and bless the foreheads, throats, hearts, and navels of the deities with Oṃ Āḥ Hūṃ Hoḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), thereby blessing them. With the light of the Hūṃ in one's own heart, invite the empowerment deities into the sky in front. Oṃ Vajra Gandhaṃ Puṣpaṃ Dhūpaṃ Dīpaṃ Naivedyaṃ Akṣataṃ Lāsyaṃ Hāsyaṃ Vādyaṃ Mṛtaṃ Gītaṃ Kāmaṃ Pratīcchana Maḥ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Meaning), offer with this. Request all the tathagatas to bestow manifest empowerment upon me. After making this request, the consorts bestow empowerment with the nectar of the vase, and so on.
