Otherwise, it will become truly existent. Therefore, if one does not accept that the ultimate truth is beyond the scope of mental examination, then superimposition will not cease. Because what is externally imposed by the mind is superimposition, not reality, because the nature of phenomena exists without being superimposed by anyone. The ultimate emptiness in which all appearances of mind and mental factors, as well as form, etc., have been eliminated is not nihilistic emptiness, but luminosity, which is the ultimate reality. It is the nature of all phenomena. It is not established in any form of conceptual proliferation such as mind or matter, etc., it should be self-aware equally without an object. From the aspect of self-luminousness, it is designated as wisdom, but it is not a consciousness divided into object and subject, or divided into matter and consciousness. Iron Rabbit Year, October 26th. Just as a rabbit has no horns, or there is no vase in this place, whatever is established as non-existent is a conceptual proliferation of phenomena, not suchness and the realm of phenomena. The non-existence of the inherent nature of a vase, etc., is also the same as this, not the realm and suchness of all phenomena. The reason is that the realm of phenomena and suchness are: if all phenomena have become its nature, and it cannot be moved by differences in direction and changes in time, etc., then it is the realm of phenomena and suchness. The existence of a vase and the non-existence of a vase, the true existence of a vase and the non-existence of a vase, etc., both fall into their respective characteristics and temporary nature for all phenomena, rather than being without limits, without partiality, and equal to the three times. Non-dual equality is the realm of all phenomena, the ultimate limit, called suchness. No matter how one elaborates with differences in time and direction, or existence and non-existence, etc., it is not established in the nature of phenomena. What cannot be elaborated by elaborators is the realm of self-nature peace. Iron Rabbit Year, November 1st. Furthermore, is the subtle mind that you believe in the Tathagatagarbha or not? If you believe it is, then the nature of this subtle mind has a grasping and a grasped, therefore the manifestation of dualistic appearance has not been eliminated, because dualistic appearance is a deluded mind, how could it be a pure mind? If you think that there is no dualistic appearance in the nature of this subtle mind, then there is also none in the nature of the coarse mind, but what is the use of that? Furthermore, the nature of phenomena, the Tathagatagarbha, is the nature of the mind of all sentient beings.

Therefore, although Dharma and Dharmata are related in the manner of entities and their qualities, they cannot be regarded as Dharma contained within the continuum of sentient beings. This is because a continuum refers to the continuum of the substance of a person's mind, and Dharma-nature does not have different continua. For the self-arisen wisdom of Dharma-nature, it is appropriate to say things like "without beginning, middle, or end." How could the subtle and coarse minds of each sentient being's continuum possibly follow after all the Dharmas related to their respective continua? All sentient beings would then become one continuum. In the Tathāgatagarbha, there is no distinction between self and other, because it is inherently free from the elaboration of the characteristics of self and other. Your own mind is contained within your own continuum, and the minds of others are within their continua. Wouldn't this lead to countless different continua, as many as there are sentient beings? If you think that the mind of Dharma-nature is also the Dharma-nature of each sentient being's mind, and therefore similar to that, it is not the same. If there were an attachment to the characteristics of self, other, and so on in this, then it would become like that. But for something that has no characteristics at all, how could there be differences in continua? Just as it is said, "How does space pervade all forms?" etc. Although sixteen types of emptiness and so on are made from the perspective of the basis of emptiness, emptiness itself is free from the elaboration of one and many in its own essence. Similarly, the Tathāgatagarbha, the innate nature of mind, is free from the eight elaborations of characteristics, the extremes of the four limits, and the thirty-two imputations. Your ordinary mind, however, has not abandoned the characteristics of elaboration such as arising and ceasing. Therefore, how could it be the Great Perfection, primordial purity, and spontaneous accomplishment? The innate mind is the awareness of the Tathāgatagarbha. At the end of the three appearances, the naked essence of awareness and emptiness dawns. To whom does it dawn? There is no object or subject other than self-illumination. To say that this dawning is conceptualization, is the subtle mind, is a statement of the lower philosophical schools. This is the play of wisdom, self-arisen wisdom, not mind. Later, the coarse mind remembers that because self-arisen wisdom knows with the part that pervades all that is known, it cannot be distinguished from mind. In the lamp of self-arisen wisdom. In the Tantra of Sudden Illumination from the Great Perfection Tantras, it says: the ground is self-arisen, appearances are held nakedly, remembrance
