Regarding (Wisdom): One does not observe consciousness as being different from wisdom, because there is no mind other than the dharmata of all minds. As Lord Milarepa also said, "Yogis who realize this do not see consciousness but see wisdom," etc. Thus, when one realizes the dharmata of the mind and abides in that state, all changing minds appear as the play of self-arisen wisdom. Those who realize the truth of dharmata see all dharmas as the nature of dharmadhatu and do not observe dharmas as being different from it. Thus, self-arisen wisdom and dharmadhatu are without arising and ceasing, so the basis for the appearance of arising and ceasing is not established by valid cognition. If the eight consciousnesses and the dharmas of objects are dependent arising with arising and ceasing, how can these two be of one meaning? Before those who realize the dharmata, although it appears as arising and ceasing, the nature abides without arising, and although it appears as many, it does not go beyond the sameness of many tastes, and although self, other, and the changes of the three times appear as various inequalities, this appearance does not move, is unmoving, and does not change from the great equality of dharmata. This is very wonderful, although it is a state that children cannot realize, it can also be determined by the reasoning of the dharmata of objects, so it is never possible to refute such reasoning. It is not mind, if it is said that at the time of such a subtle mind, the coarse conceptual thoughts of the mind have ceased and are absent, therefore it is subtle. So be it, but such a subtle mind should be separate at the time of the coarse mind, because the innate mind must always be present, it is impossible for it to be sometimes present and sometimes absent. Thus, the subtle and coarse minds must exist simultaneously, and they should be real separate entities, not established on the stream of prior and later consciousnesses. Thus, why is the subtle mind at the time of the coarse mind not experienced by self-awareness? If it is not experienced, then please say what is the manifest subsequent proof that establishes its existence? It is not experienced by direct perception, because when there is a coarse mind there is no subtle mind, and when there is a subtle mind the coarse mind has ceased. One mind in which conceptual thoughts have ceased and
