If meditating does not work, it is because in the realm of conceptual thought, one cannot manifest the realm of non-conceptual thought where dualistic appearances are extinguished. If it is not like that, when emptiness, free from elaboration, without subject and object, arises, there is no need for clinging thoughts. For the mind that directly experiences luminosity and emptiness, there is no need to apply the patch of negation, and one cannot apply it. Just as when seeing the sky as empty, there is no need to grasp that the sky does not exist. If non-conceptual dualistic appearances are extinguished, one does not know that there is a web of conceptual thoughts. Furthermore, although the term "seeing the sky" and the meaning of "experiencing without obscuration" both exist in the world, they do not truly exist. Just like "seeing the sky" and so on, similarly, forms of emptiness are also seen in the realm of yogis. Although there is increase and decrease, just as in the sky, whether there are clouds or not can be determined by observation, and although there are such situations, the sky does not become impermanent or conditioned. Similarly, the appearances of the self-radiance of the unconditioned are also the same. The appearances of the four emptinesses themselves do not have arising, etc., by their own nature. If clinging to reality arises, one needs to examine the nature of emptiness. But if a yogi knows that everything is empty like seeing a blurry image, then there is no need to examine the nature of emptiness, because one is already seeing emptiness. Similarly, although emptiness is permanent, it does not become impermanent due to the differences in the objects of observation, the mind sometimes seeing and sometimes not seeing, and the view becoming better and better. The appearances of the luminous images of emptiness are also unchanging because their own nature is not established. Although arising and ceasing appear in the objects of changing minds, in reality there is no arising and ceasing. If one asks, "Do the appearances of ordinary people also not have arising and ceasing in reality, but are they not established as impermanent due to the power of appearance?" The answer is yes, but they are different from the images of emptiness, because in conventional terms, those objects appear to have arising and ceasing by their own nature, because they are not empty forms in conventional terms. If examined, they are the same, all phenomena are established as empty forms, unconditioned. The appearances of luminosity arise naturally from the nature of luminosity, so they never revert. The deluded appearances arising from impure wind and mind

We are the opposite. Those are destructible, destructible. The appearance of clear light is indestructible, indestructible, because it is like the appearance of a dream, so it is called unshakable. Although there is appearance, it is also so because it is not formed into a coarse substance. If so, then images, dreams, dim dharmas, and forms produced by the senses will also become like that? Those are destructible because they arise from the cause of conditioned phenomena, so damaging the cause can destroy them. But here, it is not possible to harm the essence of clear light because it is unconditioned. Nothing can harm its own radiance. Although it appears to increase and decrease, it is like the sky. And so on, examine thoroughly. It is impossible for the unconditioned to have forms of light and color, etc., and to have consciousness. If it exists in that way, it is conditioned. If light, etc., consciousness is established as self-characterized, or established as causal, then it is so. But if neither exists, then appearance and consciousness exist. Because the Kalachakra says that there is appearance and consciousness that transcends the phenomena of particles and moments. That is established, not intentional. Because empty forms such as smoke are not composed of particles. And yogis prove that immutable bliss transcends the phenomena of moments through experience. Therefore, even if it is heat, it is not fire, etc. Furthermore, the Buddha should not see appearance and emptiness as inseparable, because conditioned and unconditioned are different. Because it is impossible to understand different dharmas as inseparable, and all dharmas are not self-empty, because appearance and unconditioned emptiness are contradictory. There is no emptiness that possesses all perfections, because it is only an assembly of emptiness and conditioned phenomena. If so, then emptiness will also cease to exist, because there is no appearance, etc. in it. Appearance will also not be empty, because it cannot be proven to be self-empty or unconditioned. Therefore, the insubstantial unconditioned, the partial emptiness of all appearances, such as the sky, etc., and the great unconditioned that transcends the extremes of substantial and insubstantial are different. The former two are both subjects, and the latter is the nature of reality. Nagarjuna said: Substantial and insubstantial are conditioned, Nirvana is unconditioned. And, the analysis of aggregates.
